Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Worth noting is that in Age of Ultron Cap has a dream that suggests that even if he had stayed in the 40s, he still wouldn't be satisfied and would still be faced with the question of "what do I do when the war is over?" So if you want to focus on an arc for him, that would be a good starting point.
"Oh, I'm a hero all right." (smirks)
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.
I want a story where Dr. Strange saves Aunt May form a bullet wound.

Non Indicative UsernameThe scene in Agent of Shield was like another obituary.
I think if Steve had survived the war, he would have been still working for the SSR, just like Peggy, who also never stopped fighting. The government would have most likely tried to use him for propaganda purposes again, and he would have gotten into conflict with it sooner or later. Most likely in the 1950s, I doubt that he would have agreed to the anti-communist witch hunt.
But I can imagine him fighting againt the terrible winter soldier sooner and discovering he is bucky, maybe him and howard stark would try to find him in order to cure from his brainswashing.
Cap could avoid what happen to the stark family

- Peggy: This magical stone brought me back to life and reverted me to when I was young and full of life. Now we can be together again!
- Steve: Oh, thank God. I was seriously about to bang your niece. That's how desperate this whole frozen in ice thing's made me.
- Peggy: Wait, what.
- Steve: Now that you're back, we can finally have what we were denied so many years ago!
- Peggy: No, Steve, go back. What's this about my niece? Because that's kind of a deal-breaker.

There are a couple of stories which either depict Steve and Peggy as the power couple of the 1940s or find a way to bring a copy of young Peggy into the future, so they can be together.
Which is kind of the reason I don't care who they pair Cap with...his perfect match was just killed three times in one week.
