Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I can't believe that me mentioning liking to read stories Bucky and Falcon lead to everyone announcing their ship (actually I can believe it, it's the internet after all).
I am simply enjoying the interaction between those two characters. Forget Black Panther or Spider-man, those two together are the best part of Civil War.
Yeah... Portmanteau Couple Name doesn't really work for Sam/Bucky's real names.
I'm somewhat partial to T'Chucky as a name for T'Challa/Bucky myself. and it tickles me that they graduated from crack ship to reasonably likely as far as ships go by the end of the movie But yeah, Falcon/Bucky ship names can be unfortunate. That aside, they do have a great dynamic, and should really get that roadmovie. Maybe a web series before Infinity War?
Current Comic Controversy: that plot happening in the MCU is about as likely as the one where Bucky goes to space. Or the one where Wanda un-mutates all mutants (or was it the other way round?). Or the one where Tony's suit acts like a jealous ex (wait, that kind of happened in IM 3, didn't it.).

I really like T'Chucky as a ship name, mostly because it sounds so silly.
I mean, Winter Panther is a perfectly respectable ship name that I've heard being used, but T'Chucky is so great.
And I would watch the hell out of a roadtrip movie featuring Sam and Bucky. Their interactions were golden.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.I really like SamSteve as a ship, too. I've enjoyed the idea of them getting together ever since I first saw CA:TWS. But now I'm torn between that and Winter Falcon.
I think I once saw a comic where Sam and Steve fused (a la Steven Universe) to become Captain Falcon. I don't have the link now, though...

Well, if I was ever into shipping seriously, I'd ship Bucky with therapy and maybe a warm blanket. I've never really bought into the magical healing powers of sex (or in this case, Steve's wondrous abs). But yeah, I like them better as friends partially because that relationship is so entangled and co-dependent and interlaced with guilt, ice and time travel, adding general couple issues to the mix would simply implode the whole mess. But, to each their own, really. If you ship it, ship the hell out of it.
Sam/Steve is awesome. No angst, just two grown up people having a grown up dynamic.

My favorite ship is Bucky/therapy and happiness.
I kind of ship everyone with happiness, honestly. Which means, I guess, happiness Really Gets Around.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.Hot Toys is finally doing stuff for one of the Marvel shows
. Daredevil and Punisher are first up.
Regarding the Editing Room gag script on the previous page, I really liked this.
This whole deal is kind of bullshit though. I mean, of COURSE you can trust Captain fucking America, Doing the Right Thing is your biggest superpower. We ALL have idealized levels of true heroism and noble intentions. But in real life you can't trust people with unchecked LEGISLATIVE powers, never mind SUPERpowers. So as long as we're comic-book characters living in a quasi-realistic world, we'll both always be right and always be wrong.
Pretty effectively hits both sides of the argument.
Seriously, the guy's a force to be reckoned with. Between his powerset, his brilliance, his heroic resolve, and the endless psychological warfare that is his constant jabbering, Spider-Man's one of the Marvel U's most formidable characters despite countless people who outclass him in sheer power. In the comics, it's not uncommon to see him performing feats like taking out an entire team of X-Men by himself.
In this movie alone, he mopped the floor with the Winter Goddamned Soldier and barely even seemed to notice. Like, he spends the entire fight chatting it up with Falcon and basically treats Bucky as an afterthought. Even at this young and inexperienced stage of his development, he seems to legitimately not realize that fighting Bucky is supposed to be really, really hard.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.

Even Chris is shocked by this Hydra thing
. Shame, because he's put a lot of hard work into the character
.
Oh well, in the words of Linkara: "time travel, hypnosis, clone, alien duplicate, skrull, Nomad, Commie-Smasher Cap, lingering lycanthropy."
