Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Exactly.
Note that he also punked Loki pretty hard with that explosive Arrow.
People are way too hard on Hawkeye. That's why I'm looking forward to the moment when he saves the universe from a cosmic threat.
One Strip! One Strip!Friendly reminder that he was also the one who saved both the Marvel and DC universes in their crossover. He was even made an official member of the Justice League in thanks, making him the only character with membership in both the Avengers and JL.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Yes! I knew there was something else about him, but I couldn't remember what.
He's not only saved his universe, but a completely different one as well. This is why we need to show people that Hawkeye is the most awesome guy around.
One Strip! One Strip! We all know your feelings on War Machine.
I still maintain the problem was never that he was boring. I mean, he was boring in The Avengers, but the problem was his big movie debut (not counting his cameo) was in situation where he was out of his depth and was Overshadowed by four more impressive characters.
He never got to be Black Widow or Falcon, where they got pretty cool (or at least decent) showings to highlight their usefulness before they started paling around with gods and iron men.

Well, he DID take out the Helicarrier. That was really impressive in my book. Just because he fought for the wrong side for half of the movie it doesn't mean that what he did wasn't impressive. Just not quite as impressive as the Hulk on a rampage.
Mmmm...should I p... off everyone even more by stating that I like Cap, Black Widow and Falcon better than Iron Man?
I mean, we're all adults here. I don't think anyone cares about which characters someone likes.
Carrie Ann Moss will be in Iron Fist
. Not surprising since her character was originally an Iron Fist character.
I thought her character in JJ was a highlight of the show personally. It's uncommon to have a lesbian character, let alone have a lesbian character who's mostly a bad person in that specific way (amoral attorney who does whatever it takes to win and is basically stone cold with some small degree of humanity). It was pretty refreshing and honestly kind of bold because done wrong it could have easily made a lot of people irked.

People like to shoehorn tropes to fit their pet WMG because they think it legitimizes it.
People, frankly, do a lot of things with tropes to legitimize their headcanons. That's why the YMMV pages are often such a nightmare.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Hmm, I wonder if Spider Man will end up referencing the Netflix shows at all, it would be easy for it to do so.

There was nothing boring about Hawkeye in Thor...his one line was one of the more memorable moments in the movie. But it is hard to be much of a character with one line, the only thing they established was his particular brand of humour.
