Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Michael B. Jordan cast in an unknown role for Black Panther
Not too surprising since he worked with Black Panther's director in Creed. Any idea who he could be playing?
[Looks at post.] Michael Jordon?!
[Reads the actual article.]
Oh. Not that Michael Jordan...

Obviously not The Human Torch.
An article I read about this said he might be getting a villain role, but the only BP villain I can think of is the Man-Ape, so...
Still, this is a casting I wasn't expecting, alongside Lupita Nyong'o.
Seriously, who's in charge of the casting for the MCU?

No surprise there as he's part of Coogler's Production Posse but that's still a funny piece of trivia. Maybe that guy with the metal arm, or a changed-up Killmonger, though he should be a lot bigger and buffer. Probably not Achebe though, unless they Gonk him up significantly.
I'm glad that he got another chance.
I hear he was one of the only decent bits of fan four stick.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI suspect they won't be using Man-Ape for obvious reasons. Possibly Killmonger
.
Their love may be unrequited, but Marvel still carries a Torch for the Fantastic Four.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.![]()

M'Baku is still an interesting character and Comic-Book Movies Don't Use Codenames. All the stuff about the White Gorilla cult can be replaced with a less tasteless and more sophisticated ASOIAF political power struggle.

I'm honestly surprised Earth's Mightiest Heroes used Man-Ape.
I mean, how did they ever think that dude was someone who should be on a kid's show? That's gonna get people raising eyebrows.
Outside of Claw, who does T'Challa have in terms of potential villains?

I don't know man. I'd never heard of the dude before I saw him on EMH, I'll take your word for it.

He could be. I mostly joking because the writer Ta-Nehisi Coates was on The Nightly Show a while back, and he made a joke about how it always pissed him off as a kid that the other Avengers all got awesome villains, but the lone brother on the team had to fight a dude who dresses up like a monkey.
Animated shows don't really eat up a lot of time.

One other possible role for MBJ would be White Wolf
, T'Challa's adopted brother and Aloof Ally.
