Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

What I mean is that I loved that it was pretty much this small story in a bigger universe, and if it gets made non-canon, that small story wouldn't even be there anymore. Yeah, the movies never reference it, but I didn't want them to. I was just grateful for it being in the same universe.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I guess I'm confused. Even if Agents of SHIELD gets cancelled, why would that mean it was non-canon?
Wouldn't that just mean that it would just end and the movies would continue to not reference it? There's no reason for Marvel to even take the effort to declare it non-canon.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThey would only declare it non-canon if they wanted to contradict elements from it. Such as what the show did with the Inhumans, for example.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Why do people don't get that? What Agents of Shield is doing is not really Inhumans, it's the Secret Warrior storyline. They just - with Marvel's blessing - use a group of lesser well known characters who used to have powers because they were either mutants (but not x-men) or children of powered heroes and villains, and used the Inhuman gene to explain where all the powers are suddenly coming from in an universe in which heroes popped up fairly recently. The Inhumans movie would, I assume, be about a group of those people who built up their own society and were isolated for ages.
Oh, well then in that case who gives a shit about anything, it's all fictional so who cares?
My various fanfics.RE: Emily Blunt as Captain Marvel fan art: Where's this on tumblr? Because I so want to Heart it like crazy.
RE: Twitter post of Jason Alexander: Ummmmm, that's a joke, right? Because I don't know how serious I'm suppose to take it...
RE: Hundreds of spoiler blocks: So...many...spoilers. Must...see...Civil War...ASAP. But...I....kinda promised...that I'd see...the Ratchet & Clank movie...first. Actually, I'm sorry R&C guys.
But I think I'll stick to watching it on Netflix or something, because the allure of Civil War is too great to resist for a long period of time.
Marisa Tomei, who plays Aunt May in Civil War, appeared in Seinfeld as herself. Jason Alexander played George Costanza on the show, who courted Marisa Tomei. Hence the joke.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Dude, relax. Nobody has ever said the show is being made non-canon. I don't know why you keep bringing that up.
You can't let fiction boss you around like that. If you want it to count, it counts. That simple.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.AOS exist within the MCU, applying content directly from events, plots whatever you want to call them, that first transpired in films and outside of them onto several of its conflicts. Just because Coulson has yet to pop in a film again doesn't mean you should ignore AOS. It fleshes the side these films have yet to show or only briefly touched upon just like AC did in the past. If You can accept Peggy Carter popping up 30 years later next to Hank Pym on the big screen then why not Coulson dealing with Kree, Inhumans, and hydra? Because it's not on the big screen? BS
So Mavel TV is only canon if movie directors use characters or content from it? It only has importance if movie again movie directors use characters or content from it? BS.

Probably longer plane scene, plus some bonus clips of the other heroes. Always felt the plane scene was a little Anti-Climax given all the buildup over the time Cap spent looking for him, not to mention pacingwise it seemed a too short to justify all the stuff Tony was running around doing during that time.

Yeah, it's been pretty clear for a while now that the Studio does not now, nor will it ever care about the show. It began as Joss Whedon's pet project and kept going because it already existed and was well enough liked. Its relationship with the films is entirely one-sided; it does a tie-in every time a movie comes out, but the movies refuse to acknowledge it in any way.
