Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The Comic book fanbase is too small to sustain a Blockbuster movie, they need to get the general audience.
Dude. Dark.
So what hero who hasn't been announced yet do you want to see get a movie next?
Me? I still want Ghost Rider. If badassery was ice cream GR would be a sundae of 8 flavors and a root beer on the side.
I don't know what the root beer represents in this metaphor it's just a hot day and I want a soda.
Not in the actual movie. He says so in Civil War: He has an addiction to being Iron Man and couldn't stay retired even after he blew up his suits. It's why Pepper broke up with him.
It's not an addiction. It's an identity. Any attempt to change in order to appease someone else is destined to end in failure because this is who he is.
Even Iron Man 3 pointed this out. Remember that the last lines of the movie were him reaffirming, "I am Iron Man." Age of Ultron didn't need to explain why he suited back up because he already announced the intention in the same movie that he quit.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Empire podcast
. Feige confirms Jane won't be back in Ragnarok and says there's "a number of reasons" Natalie Portman isn't returning. He also says there's only 2 or 3 scenes on Earth and that Thor will visit new worlds outside the 9 Realms.
Also, it's worth noting that the things that drove Pepper away from Tony are a major part of Tony's characterization, so them breaking up isn't just something that happens and is explained away in a sentence - it's something that helps clue us in to the state of mind Tony is in and how he makes the decisions / follows the obligations he does.
If they're not going to do Jane, I would really rather hope they just not try to throw a new relationship into this one. Him splitting up with Jane offscreen and jumping to someone new in Ragnarok is James Bond levels of silliness - and Austin Powers mocked that one for a reason.
