Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Tobey Maguire Praises Tom Holland's Spider-Man
http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/tobey-maguire-praises-tom-hollands-spider-man
Back before Tom Holland was announced, I had this great (or "great") idea for a Miles Morales Spider-Man, mentored by Tobey Maguire's now-retired Spider-Man.
Picture it: Spider-Man's been gone for a decade. Peter's a scientist, having been injured in a "car accident." JJJ is relaxed and polite in public- right up to the point where Miles swings by the window.
The ironic thing is that I expected Fox to be the one who might get left in the dust this year, but nope, they are holding on just fine (no matter if the X-men movie works out or not, they now have Deadpool), while Warner really lost their audience. Oh well, as long as Marvel is carrying the torch for the genre....

Sorry, Spidey is pretty much my favorite fictional character, so I guess I have some Opinion Myopia when it comes to him.

Make mine Marvel.I think Warner still has a passionate fanbase, not sure if they are enough to sustain a franchise, but we'll have to wait until Justice League.
Non Indicative UsernameI am likewise Spider-Man-ned out, and have been since before TASM 2 came out. I grew up a Spider-Man fan, and I'm sick of him now, and a bit annoyed by some of his fans. Thank you for at least recognizing that Opinion Myopia.

Honestly, that seems redundant.
