Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

x4 He played Q from Star Trek The Next Generation. Basically, imagine the Beyonder with the personality of an internet troll.

I hope Feige et al take the right lessons from the success of this movie and are aware that much of it is due to positive buzz from the movie being considered good and doing all the right things from a writing level, and not because they threw Spider-Man and all the other heroes into it (or maybe some of it was, but the additional Godzillas were utilized properly and furthered the plot instead of being awkwardly shoehorned in). So far it seems like at least the Russos themselves are pretty savvy as to what current-day audiences want.
I just want more films with a good balance of drama and humor, good use of the characters and a tightly-planned story. That was what made Winter Soldier a great film, it hit a great sweet spot of offering something stylistically different and more serious for the people who wanted that, but was still able to appeal to most people who like all the other MCU movies as well. The Hydra twist in particular was very bold IMHO and I hope that future Marvel films take more risks like that in the future.
Everything I've heard about Civil War makes it sound like more of what I enjoyed about Winter Soldier, so I'm excited to see it albeit it probably won't be anytime soon.
So how would a HE solo work cuz he needs one with SW support.
Fights because it's a duty + Fights because of the next generation (aka youth) =The bases of his existence. we need a full blown arc to let it be fleshed out. Those are the two things I recognized driving him to take action

I suggest a Kate Bishop centered production with Clint as supporting cast. Because of course I do.
