Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The guy they have representing Cap is a shithead. I dunno whether it's supposed to be intentional.
It's a shame that most of the events the Avengers have been involved in were caused by people and organization who can't really be expected to pay damages for them. I mean, Tony should definitely pay for Ultron (and he probably is), but you can't exactly call up the Chitauri and HYDRA and ask them to pay war reparations.
I'm surprised nobody tried to contact Asgard about it (through Thor, once he returned), though.

Asgard paying for the repairs to NYC in exchange for the United States agreeing to extradite Loki despite the absence of an extradition treaty with Asgard would have been a good way to kick off diplomacy between the two nations.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.We could have had an Asgardian Embassy.
WE COULD HAVE HAD AN ASGARDIAN EMBASSY.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersA Q&A
. They say Fury and Hill's absence will be explained in an upcoming movie, I'm guessing Ragnarok since it's been said Fury will be there.

I'm getting conflicting messages here. According to one interview with the Russos they were set to make a different film without Tony Stark and the others until Feige came in one day and told them two words: "Civil War". No time frame was given for whether this was before or after BvS was announced, but it was probably after. This interview implies they wanted to do Civil War all along, but couldn't until BvS upped the stakes enough for the higher-ups to okay it. And then there's Feige's statement that they always wanted to do Civil War since the inception of the MCU. Can someone smarter than me try to figure out the timeline here?

Eh, unless they say so, I figure it's just a world where Tap on the Head is the norm. As are flying armor suits and Norse god aliens.
