Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

WHIH is at it again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvkZx3Lojuc
Really, they are only one step above Fox news...remember the questionable interview they did with Scott Lang?
Civil War is Fandango's most anticipated Summer action movie

I love that the comments of this video have Talia al Ghul chiming in.
EDIT: Pepper is going green
. Not in a She-Hulk way.

Wait. An MCU 'news' thing is actually a thing?? I thought it was just fun in the Jessica Jones thread!

Clearly his daughter took over the position.
It's actually critical that, in the event of a vice presidential resignation or death, a new one is appointed ASAP. In the event that the president dies, resigns, or is otherwise unable to preside over the nation in a coherent and able manner, the vice president is next in line in the chain of command (Hence Killian's plot to assassinate the president, since he had the VP in his pocket).

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! So apparently Inhumans is really hard to crack, as it no longer has a release date at all.
Honestly if they had to push something back into oblivion I'm glad its Inhumans
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI don't think it's gone, necessarily. Feige already said it was likely going to be removed from that date because of Indiana Jones.
That being the case... yeah, it wouldn't exactly be the worst thing in the world if the Inhumans movie were to just... not happen.
Or figure out how to tie Agents of SHIELD into it so you don't piss off the people who follow the show but don't lose the people who don't. I'm sure it's possible.

I'm hoping that the point is to take it back to the drawing board and work out how to avoid stepping on the toes of the groundwork laid in AoS. The films have had a stance of, "F*ck the show," for a while now but then there was that regime change recently so who knows what's possible now.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I really don't think not pissing off fans of the show is a priority.
The Wrap has some rumors about Captain Marvel
. Grain of salt and all that.
The likes of Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Charlize Theron, Brie Larson, Katee Sackhoff, Katheryn Winnick, Rebecca Ferguson, Yvonne Strahovski, and more have been rumored for the part but finding a director/lead combo with the same name is a tough task. The only combo that I can come up with is Kathryn Bigelow and as previously mentioned Katheryn Winnick. Their names are spelled slightly different, but it makes sense, especially with Bigelow’s history working with war movies.
There are rumors about Brie Larson? That's...not an actor that would have occurred to me for the role, even speculatively. I know that there's lies, damn lies, and casting rumors, but still, I wouldn't have called that one. Not that she isn't a fantastic actor, but I never would have thought of her as a candidate for Carol Danvers.
Charlize Theron, though - she's my first choice. Of course ideally I would love it if Carol was played by a nonwhite actor in the MCU, to add more representation for women of color, given the precedent they're setting that's obviously never going to happen. So with that in mind, Furiosa as Captain Marvel sounds pretty good to me.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Jessica Chastain's mention is curious, considering she mentioned last year she was in talks with Marvel for a part but not for Carol Danvers
.

I don't know why I did this.
I am slow to anger, but I toe the line,

I look back on where I failed,

The only common thread has been your disrespect

I have always worn it on my sleeve
