Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I totally believe him. It had the same obvious "Let's tease as many spin-offs as possible!" problem a lot of franchise movies have now (such as AOU and BVS).
Ironically, in an example of Tropes Are Not Bad, a lot of the Civil War reviews keep saying Black Panther and Spider-Man are two of the best parts of the movie even if they are blatantly there as Spin-Off Hooks.

That was specific to Phase 2. We're probably going to get a Force Ghost or cute Tagalong Kid each movie now.
Since it is still possible to catch glimpses of a really good movie in all this mess, I am inclined to believe Andrew Garfield. But I don't think that he needs Sony anyway. He is a too good actor to not be booked by better projects than Sony currently has to offer.
Checks the tomatometer.....yeah, as expected, still 100%. Looks like we are in for a trait. And that the Captain America movies will be officially the best Superhero trilogy ever. And one of the best trilogies in general. Now the hard part starts, to control myself for the next two weeks and not check out any too spoilery stuff....
To be fair only one new review has been added since most of us last checked. I'm expecting it to drop down a little by tomorrow and eventually settle in the middle 80's range below The Winter Soldier's 89%.
Did Black Widow just punch Bucky in the dick?
I love the face he makes.

Definitely a few wacky 'Talk-show' cuts and edits in there, but it still gives us a lot to work with. Everybody's fighting!

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectEven if Tony and the others know Bucky's not exactly doing it of his own will it does seem like he's been "reactivated" so to say. If it's not a throwback to their relationship in the comics, then maybe Black Widow's comments are because this is in the middle of the film and Bucky had acquainted himself with all the Avengers prior to this.
I appreciate these action scenes for having a clear sense of geography. You always know where everyone is in relation to everyone else.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectWell he has a wrist-mounted flash camera and one of those dog-whistle thingies.
That's enough right?
Wow, Bucky doesn't fuck around. He was about to execute that guy.
Tony lasted longer than I thought he would and by lasting longer I mean he was able to block him and take a swipe at him once before being blown away.
Seeing Nat and Sharon double team Bucky was cool. I want more of those fight scenes.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectPart of me wishes that I am able to not look. Part of me is happy that so far, they have managed to pick snippets which make it difficult to figure out wtf is going on in this movie.
Also, we need more scenes of female fighters kicking their opponents into the balls. It is such an obvious move, and it is not like they can retaliate in the same manner, so why not going for their most vulnerable spot?
Yeah our page in Groin Attack observes doing the same to a female would be just as, if not more so, painful than a "regular" Groin Attack, it's just a less thought of tactic. That's actually something that I'd be interested in seeing more in media, Groin Attack to a female fighter.
In general I'd actually enjoy more when people have Brass Balls or something of the sort. I find it really dull when there's this huge behemoth of a man who shrugs off hits that could derail a bullet train, but then he just comes undone the moment you aim for his nether regions. Tad anti-climatic.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."To be fair those regions are extremely squishy and protected by neither muscle nor bone. It's like a nerve cluster just waiting to be set ablaze.
In other news, I find it hilarious seeing unarmored Tony Stark just rushing in there with nothing but a high tech glove and his nerd glasses. It's like seeing Shawn from Accounting going at a Transformer with an overhead projector and a magnet.
