Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Fun fact (and an added boost of confidence for my feelings regarding Doctor Strange): James Gunn gave Scott Derrickson several pointers and advice when the latter was directing the film.
Speaking of Spider-Man, another thing I want is for Andrew Garfield to appear as somebody. Eddie Brock would make the most sense, but if they ever decide to brave the Clone Saga (and hell, if they're brave enough to try Civil War...) he'd be an awesome Ben Reilly. I could even see him as one of the many, many Goblins.
Granted, it's a different medium and across different companies, but I really liked how Young Justice cast Josh Keaton as a Spider-Man expy villain after Spectacular was cancelled - it was a really cool touch.
And with the news of both coming at the same time, another thing I want even though its definitely never going to happen is one of those Spider-Man / Dr. Strange crossovers. Besides his adventures with Daredevil, those have always been my favorites - especially the Straczynski ones.
there is no way batman v superman contains a scene in which lex luthor starts waxing philosophical about a jar of piss
i refuse to believe it
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.i just googled it and
dear lord
are we sure this movie has no jokes in it
are we positive
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.i'm sorry, i saw it earlier in the thread and i was just what
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. He'll play a "Steven Kmith" who remarks that Spider-Man fighting a giant Superman robot is "lame".

A random cameo by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire just being Those Two Guys would be enough for me.
He apparently bailed on some sort of big banquet for the company (which is a serious no-no in Japanese business culture) and then when ASM 2 got terrible reviews, he blamed it on the studio and said the original script was great before the executives ruined it by adding in a bunch of other shit.
from what i saw of ASM 2 I would be tempted to believe him, but yeah that's defs a huge bridge burn there.

I'm very much liking that they're saying the climax is smaller and personal. Reminds me of The Empire Strikes Back.
