Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

X5: Honestly, probably not, but it's funnier to think they did.
No, they said that was a rumor they saw flying around, and brought it up to debunk it in addition to the alternate new Caps.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Apparently Ryan Coogler contributed to the Civil War script for reshoots
.
That's cool to hear. Especially since I know a lot of people complain about the heroes seeming inconsistent in their solo films vs. the team movies.
I know I'm eventually going to have to see Batman V Superman for the whole Martha thing. My plan's to see it tonight.
There's a lot of Jameses, though. There were three on the Howling Commandos.
That really looks like something Jarvis would wear.
I am with Cap on this one. If the accords were about establishing certain rules for intervention and regulations what happens when The Avengers needlessly endanger lives (why exactly is Tony getting away with creating a murder bot?), well, then I might be on Tony's side, but as it is, it only shifts the responsibility to someone else who might not be trustworthy.
I was thinking that too. I could see Vision wearing that and transforming into Edwin Jarvis.
What's kind of funny to me is that while it's in-character, Steve and Tony sort of did a 180 on their views- Steve, who tends to be trusting of benevolent authority is in the position of arguing that the only authority they can trust is their own, and Tony, who typically hates government interference is arguing for oversight.
It's kind of an oversimplification, but basically Steve is liberal and Tony is conservative/libertarian and each is arguing from the opposite perspective.
And of course there's some hypocrisy on both ends- Steve being skeptical of an authority when it's not on the same page as him/goes against him and Tony embracing authority when he is okay with it/acting as its enforcer.
On another note, I really liked that scene with Scott.

I love that we keep making "he thinks he's people" jokes about Vision dressing up.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
