Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

She's done a lot of work on Breaking Bad and is responsible for some of the better episodes of Game of Thrones IMO. Although... the link doesn't seem to work anymore.
If Thompson is an Asgardian, elf, or some sort of extraterrestrial I can see it as Thor having second thoughts about having a Mayfly December Relationship. At any rate it would provide for more interesting storylines for her than Jane got, which I'm excited for.

So I've been gone from this thead for a while, but I just had a thought:
We know Howard Stark was starting to push people away and became distant even from his own son prior to his Hydra induced accident. It's also been suggested that he might have learned of the Hydra infiltration at some point, and that said distance was his way of keeping people he cared for safe.
I'm now convinced that what happened at the beginning of Ant Man (with him and that other dude trying to discover the secret of the Pym Particles) was part of a snow job on his part. He wasn't sure who to trust, so he sets up the thing with Hank to stir the pot and get an early idea of who he can and can't trust. He wanted Hank to find out.
So Hank busts in on them, and says Screw This, I'm Outta Here!. That shows he's clean and as a bonus, ensures that the Pym Particles are now in the safest possible hands. Now he starts secretly rooting around, being his Howardly self so no one pays attention to him. He's likely planning to tell Hank what's really going on at a later point in time...
Then he gets offed. I'm thinking the prologue of Ant Man takes place shortly before Howard's death too, so Hank spends the rest of his life thinking Howard was a complete asshole (which he kinda was, but not to the extent that Hank thinks).
Considering how Tony comes across even when he's on his best behaviour, it's not a shock.

I'm really looking forward to what the cast of Black Panther will be.
I'm sure this has been posted before, but I just have to again.
We have a winner. ![]()

Sounds plausible enough. I wonder if Scott will have a conversation with Tony in Civil War.

Ah, but Tom Holland is a gymnast, so I think Spidey will flip circles around him.
I think it is Evans.
Also, I watched him doing that flip in the big fight scene so many times before I finally noticed the Ultron robot he landed on. For so long I thought Cap just randomly decided to bust a move in the middle of the big fight.
One Strip! One Strip!

We'll be getting some Captain Marvel news very soon
