Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

They've managed to be really good about not letting that many plot details leak out so far, so I imagine their snipers will be working in overdrive. I'm actually a little surprised we still don't know that much about the film beyond the broad plot elements despite all the pieces involved in this project. It's a better situation than the Age of Ultron prerelease was.

Not sure if Umberto Gonzalez is considered any less garbage these days, but that could be interesting. Most likely candidates I'm thinking of are Ramonda, Shuri, and one or two Dora Milaje (maybe Queen Divine Justice?). If Monica Lynne is in she'll probably be a minor character.

For the reactions.
This one
has me a little worried for Cap's fate though if I read into it.

Four female supporting roles, eh? All of them new characters? Hmm...
Shuri and Ramonda are definitely two of them. BP doesn't exactly have much in the way of female villains, but Nakia's a possibility. And if Black Panther does introduce some characters we see later, maybe the last one is Carol - I could see her first appearing as a detail accompanying a foreign delegation to Wakanda or something.
I think these reactions have more weight since they're from critics rather than pure fans. I haven't seen a clear consensus on the bad guy. That Jim person was critical, but some other reactions have been quite positive. One reaction apparently compared him favorably to Loki.
Everyone agrees on Spider Man.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@Four female supporting characters: My guess is T'Challa's mother/stepmother since his father looks to be dead, Shuri, a love interest that isn't Storm(and sadly not Monica
◊)and one Dora Milaje. I'm expecting one to be played by Tessa Thompson.
I'll probably vacate this thread until the movie is out if we don't create another thread for it.

Uh, that seems unethical, that second part.
Also, ultimately unnecessary.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe Avengers: Japanese Gay Porn version.
SFW.
Sounds like sarcasm, but you know how Poe's Law works with hardcore fans. People will take this as "proof" Marvel is bribing the journalists. Though I'm game for that dog sex scene by the way.
Korean actually

The consensus is that he, Spider-Man, and Ant-Man seem to be the Spotlight-Stealing Squad.
I guess it is only the excitement over the new characters and the fear of spoiling anything which lead to them not mentioning anything about the actual main features....
Thus said, I hope there is a scene along this line in the movie:

The downside is dodging spoilers will be murder.
