Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I think Aiden Gillen would make a fine Strange too, but I'm happy with Cumberbatch.
Sing the song of sixpence that goes burn the witch, we know where you liveHe looks stupid instead of creepy without whatever CGI will make him a demon/possessed by one or whatever.
I really hope they aren't going by that story where Strange dressed up like Neo and started to see demons and people who were really demons in human bodies all around NYC.
People are guessing he's either Nightmare, Kaluu or Dormammu related.

Even more cumberbatch pictures:
That is one of the downsides picking him...the Cumberbatch fans have gotten really good in finding out when he films where. But apparently there is no Setstrange yet....
So what are people going to call the inevitable Stephen Strange/Karl Mordo pairing the fans will create what with the Sherlock and MCU's large M/M shipping fandoms combining? Strordo? Morphen?
I look forward to the day when the F/F ships aren't just 8% of all ships while M/M are 50% and F/M 42%. The MCU really needs more female heroes and villains.

Besides Pedro Pascal, I think Oded Fehr would've been the next best choice.
