Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Someone asked if Marvel ever did an outright bad movie (well, sorry, I sleep from time to time and tend to miss out the best discussions). I don't think so. Personally I think that The Incredible Hulk is Incredible boring but, well, I don't like Monster movies. I am sure that Monster movie fans are generally satisfied with this one. There are a few movies which are close to falling apart, but even Thor 2 and Iron Man 2 have enough elements which make the movies enjoyable to a certain degree...even though they could be much better.
TIH is an adaquate popcorn flick, entirely serviceable, a workman-like piece... The point is that it doesn't offend anyone's sensibilities nor insults anyone's intelligence, but dammit a few months ago I watched it like three times in a row to get a sense of it and every time I could not properly remember the movie.
It's very good at taking up space, you're in there for the ride but afterwords you'll be hard pressed to get any details out of said ride. It's just not that memorable.
I mean sure Iron Man 2 and Thor 2 are pretty bad but at least you can talk about them. There are at least things that can be said about them that are interesting.
The Blog The ArtMy biggest problem with the Incredible Hulk was Blonsky. And how ridiculously stupid he was. I get he's high on super soldier serum, but he ain't doing shit to the Hulk.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.@Loki's family. The issue is that certain members of his family are far more iconic than the ones required to explain them. Hela and The World Serpent are the big ones. Meanwhile I don't think I've ever encountered a character mention their mother. And Worse still, Loki's farther Lauffy didn't appear for a stretch of FIFTY YEARS. Almost the entire length of the first 616 universe's existence. It was easy to forget that he was adopted.
