Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Cool costume but not what I expected- I was thinking something more like Miles'' costume (but with bright blue) and/or a hoodie like Spider-Gwen.
This makes me think of the 70's tv Spider-Man outfit, if it had a baby with Deadpool.
Does look like something homemade though, which the more typical Spider costumes don't.

Yeah, that's why I simultaneously dislike the Spider-Man costume and think it's great.
Because something like the Garfield costume is what I'd expect, given the trend of muted costume colors, but this is so different from the norm (and deliberately kind of crappy looking) that it stands out. And if Spider-Man is (as the trailer hinted) a more optimistic character in the midst of the in-fighting, it works symbolically too.
@Stingerbrg- That's interesting. I almost felt the opposite, because this trailer showed more scenes of Tony using physical force than did the previous one. Like the previous ones were more of Cap going rogue and Tony having to reluctantly take him down, whereas here he was more aggressive (and it seemed like the lead up to the scene of Cap and Bucky wailing on Tony is him shooting at them with his palm laser).
On the other hand, it seems pretty clear that Bucky badly wounding Rhodey is what sets Tony off.

The bright colors make sense to me seeing as how he's probably a teenager who's excited to be a hero and he probably designed the costume to be as flashy as possible.
This song needs more love. Those two lines from Spidey just say so much.
We've gotten two different takes on him on film in the past few years, and I'm hoping this new guy can take everything those two versions did right, and amplify them to create the greatest Film Spiderman ever. The fact that he's an actual kid adds to it.
So, I wonder if Hank is gonna lend his support to Cap out of spite towards Tony. We know he can't stand any Starks, so it wouldn't surprise me. Scott ends up involved due to his encounter with Falcon, but I'm not sure what Hank will think of that at first really.
One Strip! One Strip!

That's why I was checking. Seems so weird.
