Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

RDJ talks about the movie some
.
I'm also glad he remembers Dummy.
I'd expect the main plotline would be Danny reclaimung his father's company and legacy, so I expect the ceo and uncle yo be the big bads, and steel Serpent simply the rival.
Also, YES Colleen Wing! Misty Knight is also in the season (I think that's confirmed?) so we might see them be the heroes for hire.
Something I really like about the final scene of the Civil War trailer is that how it comes off is going to depend on whether you side with Steven or with Tony. If you see Steve as the good guy, it comes off as two comrades reunited, working together to beat someone who means them harm. If you're on Tony's side, it comes off as the hero getting beaten into the ground by a traitor who chose a fugitive over his team. It's either an uplifiting way to end the trailer, or a tragic one.
But then again, it came from Latino Review, so we better take it with a grain of salt. Many grains of salt.
So with Misty Knight in Luke Cage, and Colleen Wing and possibly Shang- chi in Luke Cage, the Netflix subverse is shaping up to have a diverse roster of heroes.
Daredevil, Elecktra, Jessica Jones, HELL CAT (probably?), Luke Cage, Misty Knight, Danny Rand, Colleen Wing and Shang-chi
That's four heroes of colour out of nine, and a majority of female heroes!
It's not yet clear to me if Punisher, Steel Serpent and or Night Nurse should be on this list.

The way things are shaping up, Clare Temple could become the accidental Nick Fury of the Defenders. She's the only character that's been in every season of every MCU Netflix show that's either been released or has a full cast list announced, so it makes sense that she would be the one to bring everyone together for the Defenders.
My guess is that the Defenders is going to focus mainly on the 4 main Defenders, with other supporting characters appearing as the story demands, until the final climactic confrontation which will include basically everyone in the Netflix side of the MCU who can put up a fight and is on at least tolerable terms with the main Defenders.

Oh yeah, ET are also doing some BTS stuff on Wednesday and Thursday.
This really does feel like we're getting close to a new trailer.
