Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I think Power Pack would be better suited to movie than series, but it would certainly be a great addition to the MCU.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. There might be difficulty with sequels or additional seasons since children grow up
Just look at the harry potter cast
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe latter's basically a non-entity due to being completely infeasible, though.
Trying to do insane crossovers means having to pay to have Samuel L. Jackson this week, RDJ next week, Chris Evans the week after that, etc. etc. Good luck affording that on a TV show budget, especially one aimed at children.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I don't think that Blade is a good fit for the MCU the way it is now either way. Plus, I don't think that Disney would ever do it. Those movies are not just Marvel movies, they are distributed by Disney. In addition, I like the solution to go gritty on Netflix. Most of those characters are better suited for serialized storytelling anyway.
Ghost Rider stands in a tragic in-between.
His general form of storytelling is better suited for a R-Rated, gritty Netflix series, but the CGI required for the character is too expensive for a show, so he can't be done either way.
It is however very possible to make a movie of the character in PG-13, I'd say, since his villains to be inhuman creatures, you can tweak the violence quite well that way. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance actually had a clever idea in showing Ghost Rider's victims incinerating into dust, allowing the character to mow through hordes of mooks very violently but without showing any actual blood, bypassing the censorship (disclaimer: I enjoy Spirit of Vengeance in a So Bad, It's Good way, which I suspect was the intention.
The main reason I don't see him being added as a MCU movie is because Ghost Rider doesn't have all that much to add to the grand scheme of the MCU (Doc Strange already taking care of the mystical elements and all) and it's storytelling tends to be too gritty for the MCU films.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Ghost Rider bringing Galactus to his knees and a Heel–Face Turn with the Penance Stare is probably one of my favorite moments of his but It probably won't ever happen in live-action, considering the logistics of having both Ghost Rider and Galactus on the big screen.
His talk about comic book creators and their credit is still important in the current movie heavy industry. The fact he himself doesn't know if the next Daredevil season will have a "Based on characters created by..." with his name somewhere on it is sort of absurd but then again we all hopefully remember how Rocket's creator got treated...

Cloak and Dagger are higher on my list of desired Netflix series, being at the top. Moonknight is on that same list too, but third behind She Hulk. Blade is fourth, simply because I'm not sure how you could make a run of the character fresh.
For the movies, my list of desired characters to get franchises (who are not already in universe) goes KAMALA KHAN and then squirrel girl.
And all I want from the next non Netflix TV series is for it to be Runaways.
Beyond that, you're rapidly running out of MARVEL universe characters I care about (that MARVEL studios has the rights too)

Didn't know Blade was Marvel Studios. Get on that!
Also, you know what would be great? Either a show or a series of movies made for kids that are much lighter in tone to contrast the Netflix shows and even lighter than the main movies starring the Power Pack.
