Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Ultron used Hawkeye more, but made the mistake of trying to sell him and Black Widow as front-line beat-up-an-army-by-themselves fighters like Cap, rather than emphasizing their unique skills. So at the end of the movie he's in the middle of a fight with an army of robots with a bow and arrow, and it doesn't make sense, and he and several other characters actually points out how ridiculous it is throughout the movie, which makes it looks like the writers are actively trying to make him out to be useless.
Avengers 1 did a better job of utilizing his role in the team, even if its much briefer: he's the team sniper, recon and coordinator, capable of seeing through the enemy's movements and providing devastating support from afar. Emphasizing that would improve his character a great deal.

I recognize that filthy Hank-Jan scene.
Tragically thats from the tiny post-Busiek pre-Bendis era where Jan and Hank's relationship gets completely derailed.
Also Whirlwind tries to rape Jan and Hank walks around Las Vegas giant and naked.
But at least it wasn't Chuck Austen.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI think my favorite bit about his run, though, is that he has perfectly great ending...and then did just one more issue, his last issue. Which was about the Avengers being audited and it was called "Lo, There Shall Come...an Accounting!" It was hilarious.

It was a nice breather episode after everything that happened.
And Cap was the only one who was helpful and had all his paperwork in order.
it was great
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAnd way before the debut of Man Whose Fist Is Iron Season The First.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Marvel will be spoiling us in the next weeks...first the Agent Carter season finale, than Ao S coming back with the Secret Warriors and finally Daredevil with the first vs. Story of the year. And I guess once the fuss around Batman v Superman is over, they will ramp up the marketing for Civil war.

Well, the one who said we knew how it starts was talking a lot of nonsense, because last time I checked, we only have guesses (and if I am wrong, please don't correct me)...but yeah, that one should have been put under spoiler tags, too.
