Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Avengers made a big deal about Coulson dying, and I was just sitting there wondering who this guy was and why I should care.
The movie is just less than the sum of its parts when only two of the movies that built up to it were actually good.
I think part of it might just be people don't find Hawkeye that interesting. I certainly didn't, though the fact that he has a family and stuff in Age of Ultron so that might have improved his character somewhat.
Chadwick Boseman talks about Black Panther
Apparently Marvel is very unhappy that a certain character was
Spoiled by the Merchandise.

Until just now, anyway. Giant-Man, huh?
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.You know what they say about assumptions. Assume and make an ass out of u.
Spoilertags are mandatory when discussing leaked details of Works that haven't been released yet. There's some debate as to when the appropriate expiration date for mandatory spoiler tags is, but all sides of the debate agree that the answer is absolutely not "Any time prior to the Work hitting distribution".
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I think AOU did a much better job handling him than the first one did but it also sort of hammered home how outclassed he is by superpowered characters at the same time. His major strength in the movie was as The Heart of the team, I thought.
It doesn't help that Marvel is increasingly crowding the universe with more and more superpowered heroes, which only illustrates the problem even more. I hope Civil War at least gives him some cool feats.

Man, I tried watching some of the earlier movies last night and I can't. I can't stop noticing problems with how Avengers is structured(also I laughted when I reached Coulson's death scene since I now know that the movie almost got a R rating due to it being too violent before it got edited), how Cap 1 falls in quality so quickly or how IM 2 just feels wrong.
