Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Oh man the last one makes me super happy. The second to last point really interests me, because I figured it was going to be obvious to the Genre Savvy that Bucky was still heroic and that any moral ambiguity of his was purely Watsonian.

The children in the theater, there because it's a PG-13 film nowadays, are scarred for life though, and the common audience is baffled at how much the Trailers Always Lie.

The Casting of Cumberbatch was announced a few weeks after Marvel had this big press conference in which it announced it big slate, and that they had cast Black Panther. December 2014 I think? Something along that line....
But we don't even have a director for Captain Marvel yet, and I somehow doubt that they will cast the role without input from a director.
Concerning the article: The first statement points into the direction what I have been saying for months, that Civil war won't cover the whole Civil war, but the START of it, leaving out heroes divided until Infinity War I. And them not working together might be reason why Thanos is able to collect the stones in the first place.
Also yeah for the last statement! I really look forward to spending the next years in a friendly discussion with other fans who is right!
I don't think that Cap will die. Everyone know what happens in the Comics but, well, exactly because everyone knows it he is actually the least likely candidate to die.
Bucky was a kinda shitty Cap in the comics anyway. The reason he more than happily gave the mantle back to Steve was because it conflicted with how he likes to operate. He's all about the deep-cover black ops style. He likes sneaking around and planting bombs and stuff.
He hates kicking in the front door wearing bright red and blue and demanding everybody's attention in his flashy garb. He can throw the shield real good, but being Captain America is fundamentally irreconcilable with his entire skillset, and the fact that he and the role are not good for each other was part of the point of that arc.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Bucky is the kind of guy who would rather go in from the top of the train and kill the target rather than fight through each car while the target prepares himself. IIRC Black Widow's recent solo comic(which was fairly meh aside from the art)had him suddenly show up during one of Nat's missions after the same target as her and together they have to escape while killing everyone in their way. Cap would've never done what they did that day in the snow.

If she's gonna appear in Infinity War Part 1 then we'll probably hear something later this year.
Well, they cast Black Panther in 2014 and we just officially got Ryan Coogler as a director last month. And he wasn't even the first (or second) choice to make the movie.

I wonder how old will be Carol Danvers. (And her rank)
Well, I think we'll know at the end of this year.
P.S.: Speaking of cast, in Thor: Ragnarok
My candidates for Enchantress would be: Natalie Dormer, Elena Satine, and Alice Eve.

Unless people assumed Enchantress traveled back in time and Killed And Replaced some random army officer, I think it would be fine.

That's what he meant with Early-Bird Cameo. He's implying the foxy secretary in Captain America was Enchantress or somesuch.
For that matter, actors of minor roles returning in more major ones is not unheard of. For example, the guy who plays Melvin Potter in Daredevil previously played a minor role as a neo-nazi gangmember in the All Hail the King short.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I can't imagine why she'd be interested in that so it's probably not a big deal. Heck the only people who remember Dormer's cameo are internet commentators who love the Retroactive Recognition factor since she became famous a few years later.
I'm more surprised actor recycling hasn't occurred more often. I mean they used Stanley Tucci to play the doctor that made Steve into a super soldier and the doctor that helped Tony build the Mark I in a CAVE WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS.
I was half expecting him to show up as an Asgardian mentor in a Thor movie who also dies.
The Blog The ArtAre you referring to Ho Yinsen? If so, he was played by Shaun Toub, not Stanley Tucci.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."

The Falcon will eat all three of them, then Black Panther will eat the Falcon.
