Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The man that played Boris the Animal in Men in Black 3 was Jermaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords.
I've never even watched that show and I was surprised too. Hell, he also channels Tim Curry in Rio of all movies (he's the evil cockatoo). He can do a damn good David Bowie too, and not just from the Flight of the Conchords song. He did a Bowie type role in Rick and Morty as that gaseous cloud thing that Rick called "Fart".
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I wouldn't be apposed to either Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus showing up (iffy on the Lizard, to be honest), but I really wanna see another villain for once. Like has been mentioned earlier, Shocker and Vulture would make great villains if used right (hell, Vulture would've been the villain in Sam Raimi's aborted Spider-Man 4). I'd also throw in the Chameleon and Kraven the Hunter (ESPECIALLY HIM).
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Lizard needs a snout (which his AMS self lacked) and a godamn labcoat.
Seriously, wearing a labcoat is basically his Iconic Outfit. Major mistake of AMS to remove it.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I want to Wilson Fisk as the no-action big bad of the first films, which hires super-villains such as Shocker, Kraven, among others.
They could even introduce the Hobgoblin (in the second or third movie), as an ally of Wilson Fisk, but that his true intentions, is kill him, for avenge the death of his uncle Ben Urich.
I've said this before, but Kingpin being the Big Bad of the Spider-Man reboot would be the only way I'd see it.
Silvermane is also a possibility for Nonaction Big Bad if Kingpin is unavailable.

Not necessairily. The 90's show introduced the Hobgoblin first and then the Green Goblin and it was pretty cool.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Silvermane would be pretty good too. I still really wanna see Mysterio, though. The stinger in the first Amazing Spider-Man made me think Mysterio would show up, but he never did (and the second one sucked, so it didn't matter in the end).

Fair point.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I'd want Kraven as the main physical threat with his bro Chameleon as a supporting villain.
Or were they cousins?
I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Doc Ock again, but he'd have to try pretty hard to outdo the Raimi version, and I wouldn't want to see Lizard, Electro, Rhino, or any Goblin so soon after ASM.
As a Badass Normal, Kraven would also mean they wouldn't have to try to cram two superpower origin stories into one film as is often a flaw in first films.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'd also propose Mr. Negative. What with The Corrupter shtick and Balance Between Good and Evil motif he would be very interesting.
You know, the myth arc of the Spider-Man trilogy could actually be a Mob War. Have Silvermane, Mr. Negative, maybe Fisk (or a more serious version of Hammerhead) introduced across two films leading up to a full-blown superpowered Mob War in the third between Silvermane, Mr. Negative, Kingpin and maybe Hammerhead.
Which would also be a excellent way to tie in with The Defenders.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."A good villain for a Spider-Man movie/Daredevil Season 2/3 would be the Schemer/the Rose: Fisk's son who forms his own gang (with blackjack and hookers) to overthrow his father as revenge for thinking he was dead when he was caught in an avalanche after running away in response to learning that his father is a crime lord.
The Rose would be a good name for a villain, I think. You could make a good motif out of it.
Oh God! Natural light!![]()

Maybe not a Big Bad, but I'd definitely be in favor of his presence.

Throw him into the MCU Mob War as well. Imagine how cool it would be to have all those criminal supervillains going at each other.
It could be the urban equivalent of the Infinity War storyline.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Purple Man and Kingpin made Rolling Stone's top 40 TV villains of all time.
Also, do Sony and/or Marvel even have the
rights to use the Trapster? Wouldn't he be at Fox?

Make mine Marvel.

That's why I like Shocker. He's just a skilled engineer and a guy doing a job. The job could be merc work or robbing backs but he's just a normal dude trying to get by, and just happens to make technology that not only lets him do that, but also can give Spider-man a run for his money.
Yeah you can survive getting super-vibrated but between the headaches, possible heart problems, and the fact it'll just plain make you exhausted trying to resist even a little, it's an excellent first go baddie for a movie where you want to focus on the hero and their life.
@Adric, Wait, the dude I'm Men In Black 3 wasn't actually Tim Curry?!
