Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He wasn't saying that the worst part was that Tony was alive. He was understanding Tony's perspective. The worst part of seeing all your friends dead around you is that you're still alive after they're gone. Considering that Nick Fury served in the military, it's probably a feeling he's familiar with.
My various fanfics.Yeah. It's called Survivor's Guilt, and it was Tony's motivation to rush headlong into finishing Ultron.
As a heavily experienced soldier, Fury's almost certainly been through that. He was commiserating with Stark because he cares about him.
I actually sort of get a "Son he never had and isn't sure whether or not he wanted" vibe off of Fury's interactions with Tony. Fury gets really personal with him.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Really good article.
It is kind of ironic how similar Tony is to his father. Howard also constantly made destructive invention when he tried to create something to make the world better. And with the one good thing he helped to create - Captain America - he has to realize that all the good in it came from Steve and not from science.
I guess that is the message in the end. We can make our life easier through science, but in order to change the world, humanity itself has to change.
Didn't sound like him to me. Regardless, they would have only had to get him to voice a few lines rather than actually act in the suit.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'm surprised that the can of coke didn't spray everywhere after all of that. It seemed like that was the joke they were building towards.
My various fanfics.![]()
The lack of "Ultron, we would have words with thee" is all the sadder because there's a few moments he could have said that. Like when he says "IS THAT ALL THAT YOU GOT?" during the Battle of Sokovia, or when he is teaming up with Vision.
I know some people don't like Whedon's dialogue but Thor deliberately monologuing to stall Ultron was a bit I really did like. I kind of wish it was longer.
"I am Thor, Son of Odin, and as long as there is life in my breast I...am running out of things to say, are you ready?"
He may not have said the line, but he certainly did have words with thee. Followed by some great Casual Danger Dialogue with Vision, discussing Mjolnir's balance.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Well, I have two flaws, the movie should have been longer and they should have skipped the stupid love-story.
But who cares about Age of Ultron now? CIVIL WAR!!!!! I can't wait. I am just glad that Agent Carter, Ao S and Daredevil will fill the time at least a little bit.....
And my annual rewatch of the MCU. I am currently at The Incredible Hulk.
I only hope they don't muck up the other classic Thor Battle Cry moment. The fabled moment
◊ of "For Asgard!", "For Midgard!", "For myself!".
Which in a brief detour has a cool detail, in that Odin's Rousing Speech is a paraphrasing of the poem Horatius from The Lays of Ancient Rome (which goes "To every man upon this earth / Death cometh soon or late / And how can man die better / Than facing fearful odds, / For the ashes of his fathers, / And the temples of his Gods.").
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I figure the line wasn't included because: 1. Thor has never said "thee" or "thou" in any of his movies, so it would seem weird that his speech suddenly got so formal. 2. Judging by the very last (non-stinger) line of AoU, Whedon might've thought of adding it as pandering.

Marvel launched the website for Civil War: http://marvel.com/captainamerica
Spider-Man's role in Civil War probably isn't very big. I'm expecting stinger.

As in "the worst part is that you got to watch / had to live with the fact that they all died."
