Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I've never quite gotten that. Doing Planet Hulk or at least elements of Planet Hulk doesn't mean there'll be no Banner at all, especially since as someone just said, the MCU only ever loosely adapts stories anyway. You could easily do a Planet Hulk-inspired arc for the Hulk that still heavily incorporates Banner.
Black Panther was given vaguely defined superpowers during that whole run though. He's never been above Badass Normal levels most of his comic history.
People are going to beat enemies outside their power levels otherwise, what are comics for?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI mean, I got the impression that compared to the others, Black Dwarf didn't have much going for him. Mostly just super-strength, from what I could tell.
Oh God! Natural light!I don't know about that. Ebony Maw doesn't show any physical capabilities, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous.
Oh God! Natural light!Yeah, that's probably an exaggeration. I'm sure Disney lets their actors out for some fresh air every once in a while.

Maybe they're keeping the actor in the attic, instead?
When we're done, there won't be anything left.I don't really expect Iron Fist to be in Luke Cage because the timeline doesn't really allow it.
Going by the official synopsis of the Iron Fist series, the main story picks up immediately after Danny Rand returns to New York City. And since the Netflix series have thus far been in chronological order, that would mean Danny Rand is still in Kun Lun during the events of the Luke Cage series.
There are ways around this (flashforwards, or breaking the chronological order by setting the Iron Fist series before Luke Cage), but ultimately I hope they don't feel the need to disrupt the narrative of either show for the sake of shoving an Iron Fist cameo in where it's not needed.
All of that aside, I 100% expect Luke Cage to appear in the Iron Fist series and for the characters to have a lot of teamups going forward, so it makes sense that they would want to cast someone who could work well with Mike Colter and involve him in the casting process.

That came out over a year ago. Maybe Feige changed his mind?
