Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Marvel isn't Dragon Ball, just because Thanos will be very powerful, doesn't mean that next Big Bad will be stronger.
Something I guess is that if Marvel extends far, will use ideas of MC 2.
- Sylene: I am Sylene Lokisdóttir, and I will be the Big Bad of this film.
- Kate Bishop: Interesting. Loki, why you never mentioned to your daughter?
- Teen Loki: I dont know. I guess the same reason why Hawkeye never mentioned to his apprentice.
- Kate Bishop: You win this time.

Bingo. Trying to just one-up the plot of the Avengers by making it "bigger" is a major reason why I thought the plot of Age of Ultron was weak.
Focus on telling a good story, not on Sequel Escalation.

I can imagine the Stinger of first movie of fourth phase.
- Zemo [to Big Bad of the movie]: "What if I told you we were putting a team together?"

I'd love that.
The Stinger for Civil War could also be Loki approaching Zemo about putting together a group.
Loki is definitely gonna survive. He's been such an Ensemble Dark Horse that I can't possibly imagine them killing him before Infinity War.
I missed that you had CW in the post
. Yeah, he's going to live to at least IW 1.
I don't think anyone here is suggesting the Masters of Evil show up in Infinity War. Rather, that they be the Big Bad of Phase 4.

Loki isn't really a physical threat. There's a high likelihood the Black Order may show up, since the Russos mentioned the screenwriters reading Infinity for inspiration.
A cool way to do the Thunderbolts/Masters is to have the Avengers either have taken huge losses in Infinity War, and even have some members be MIA entirely, and then have the Avengers movie in Phase 4 involve a sparkly new team of "heroes" pop up supposedly out to take the Avengers' place - but of course be run by Zemo for nefarious purposes.

Yeah. I really like that idea- was thinking of tying it into Civil War though, assuming that the Avengers break up after that and lose one or more members.
Here's my suggestion:
- Citizen V/Zemo (obviously)
- Justin Hammer- As Crimson Dynamo or MACH-I
- Lorelei as Valkyrie and/or Loki as Thunderstrike (it would be Tom Hiddleston with his natural hair color and a beard)
- Abomination or Red Hulk
- Some evil Ant-Man equivalent- either Goliath or Female!Beetle

Yeah, was thinking a combination of the two. Although, not so much Captain America being disgraced as assuming that Steve will be killed off (at least temporarily) and that Sam and/or Bucky will be operating as Captain America but not in connection with the Avengers.
So when "Citizen V" shows up with his shiny new super team...

I feel that logically they'd want to do Galactus or Doctor Doom after Thanos.
BUT A CERTAIN STUDIO DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY NICE AND SHARE EITHER THE DEVOURER OF WORLDS OR THE KING OF LATVERIA WITH MARVEL STUDIOS, NOW DO THEY?!
