Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Oh God! Natural light! So when are we expecting more Civil War stuff. I'm in withdrawal.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectHulk triple jumps like Super Mario 64 Mario.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Speaking of Bill and the Surfer, I'm sort of sad we'll probably never get to see the team they were part of in the comics.

Something that I wonder is what role will have Loki in Ragnarok.
- Nominal Hero / Token Evil Teammate: Loki will be one of the heroes who will fight against his not-daughter.
- Disc-One Final Boss: Loki is defeated (And possibly killed) in the first thirty minutes of movie.
- Big Bad Ensemble: Loki and his not-daughter, are both big bads, but with their own distinct agendas.
- Big Bad Duumvirate: Loki and his not-daughter are allies.
- The Man Behind the Man / Hijacked by Ganon: Loki is the true Big Bad.
- Sacrificial Lion: The Big Bad is actually the daughter of Loki, and he will died, trying to reason with her.

I can definitely agree with the idea that the third Thor film should be a Thor movie and not a Hulk movie that was intentionally mislabeled to get around the distribution rights issue.
That doesn't mean it can't have some elements of Planet Hulk (such as the Hulk fighting in a gladiator match at some point in the movie) of course. But I would stop short of anything that would rule out a real Planet Hulk movie in the future.
I could see a Thor movie with the Hulk as a... well, not a sidekick, but a supporting character. Since Loki rules Asgard and he's out looking for Thanos, Bruce might be the only ally who has who isn't trapped by one situation or another.
Bruce could basically be in a Sif role, or perhaps a Rhodey-type role where he has his own small character arc alongside Thor's main one.
I like the idea of a crossover buddy adventure, too, because the various heroes haven't really had much time to connect like that in the MCU. Winter Soldier had a lot of good dynamic between Steve and Natasha, but Whedon wasn't much interested in having the Avengers interact without being at each other's throats in his movies (except for the party in Ultron, which was an awesome change), and Civil War is written around all of them trying to beat each other senseless.
A movie with two very different heroes teaming up and heading forth to parts unknown? Count me in. I especially like it when Thor connects with the Midgard heroes, because he has such a different perspective from everyone. It's easy to have Widow and Cap to have plots together, because they both work(ed) for SHIELD and have similar jobs. Thor and Banner, though? That's different.

"Jane is not speaking to me and I needed someone to look at the wonders of Asgard and say 'yup sure is some sufficiently advanced science all up ins.'"
"I can't promise that I'll say 'all up ins.'"
"Also, it would be enjoyable to have a comrade with whom I could smash skulls beside"
-the warriors three in background looking sad-
-Sif isn't there. She and Valkyrie are fighting dragons in a spin-off movie titled Dragons: Sif and Valkyrie Fight Them-
unrelated but in celebration of civil war coming out soon:
Thor ends up on Sakaar and fights as a gladiator, hearing stories of another gladiator tearing through the ranks. Thor and Hulk meet up in the arena and fight. Hulk has made gladiator friends and a romance between him and Caiera is a subplot. Hulk and Thor do Ragnarok things and Hulk goes back at the end to rule over Sakaar.
Something I would like to see is that Loki, after of four years of his reign, he has several villains as subordinates.
- Lorelei: His best weapon against Thor, and another men. But almost useless against Valkyries.
- Ulik: His best weapon against hulk.
- Brun, Kara, Gondul and Hlokk: His best weapon against Valkyries, and eventually against his not-daughter.
- Angela: Nepotism, and his best weapon against Sif and Bruhilde.
Teams
- Team Thor: Himself, Sif, Three Warriors, Heimdal, Valkyries, and Hulk.
- Team Loki: Himself, Lorelei, Ulik, Angela, Brun, Kara, Gondul and Hlokk.
- Team Cate Blanchett: Herself, Surtur, and Fenris.

Besides, we all know breathing in space is DC's thing.
