Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

No, but it would've given that story closure. In the final film, the twins have a backstory that largely goes unfollowed up on.
Both, I say. It's easy to blame all the fault of the film on Executive Meddling and there are big problems with what was cut, but there's other stuff that appears to be all Whedon's writing that wasn't received so well, like Ultron's portrayal as immature and confused about his goal, or again Widow and Bruce Banner.
It seems like a large mix of both. For one, Whedon's stated goal of making a smaller, more personal film with a shorter runtime seems completely at odds with his decision to add three new Avengers to the team.
At the same time, a lot of the stuff people complained about regarding the overstuffed, disjointed nature of the story definitely seemed like Marvel overloading the film with Sequel Hooks.
Sorry for not following out this conversation, I was sleep, but anyway:
By biggest complain about Wanda is not that she hate tony stark, but that she dosent see ANY problem with aalling herself with HIS creation and biggest weapon to date, the same weapon who pretty much acts, behave and talks like him.
Also I dont buy the whole "she think hulk would lie down" because the avenger are pretty well know a this point, in fact for what I saw, t was pretty clear Ultron planned the ambush and relie in Wanda unleashing Hulk to kept Stark busy.
And more important...I dont feel Wanda joining the avengers is about atonement at all,it fell more like a typical promotion from vllian to hero: with all her past deed forgiven and just moving on.
I just find her very unlikable at the end.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I have to say, I think there was nothing at all wrong with Ultron's portrayal in the film. Comparing him to the comics portrayal, showing him as "immature" was actually a really good idea (the comics version has this weird Oedipal complex with his creator, Hank Pym, and Hank's wife Janet).

Well, Ultron is yet to share a scene with Hank Pym in the MCU, so there's still room for that.
Also, watching Age of Ultron and ANT MAN, it is startling how alike in character Hank and Ultron are, I guess that's not intentional, but dang, I can't help but think Ultron resembles Hank more than Tony in the MCU.
I hope they do confirm that Hank was the one who started the Ultron project Tony 'dug up'.
While I understand ultron "inmature" take on him(otherwise it would be just marvel-skynet) I feel it make him waaaaay less threating, it was the twins who smack around the avengers in wakanda, then he lost his body after they deflect from his side and the climax is pretty much "throw mooks at them until they stop" making him look like a joke.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Rrrrrrgggg. I'm already frustrated with folks having dumb opinions on Kylo Ren, do we really gotta do the "this villain has emotions and vulnerabilities therefore I'm not scared of them therefore they're bad" thing again?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. He does have moments of being genuinely threatening I feel. His enterance and interaction with Klaw gave me chills. He was just unpredictable enough that I found myself on the edge of my seat.
Actually, yeah, that's a point, where ever he's talking to people outside of combat, its suitably intimidating, like at the party or when he has Natasha, but when ever there is a fight about to go down he's not nearly as intimidating.
Edit
that's it, Ultron is effective to me in much the same way Kylo was, his emotional instability made him unpredictable and intimidating.

when he is taking to Klaw yeah..until he mention tony stark, them he act like a child with a tantrum or when he kiddnap Natasha to monologe in front of her(on of the most pointless element in the movie actually) and again the climax when he is...what, 3 scenes at best?
