Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Both from Latverian "Expatriates" and recent Latverian arrivals.
And from the supervillain community at large.
And from pretty much everybody who doesn't like Reed Richards. Or anyone associated with him.
You should see the sucking up the Daily Bugle runs about him.

Hey, you guys know how it took a while before Daredevil finally got his red suit in Daredevil season 1?
I kind of love that most other pop mediums take one look at women's comic book outfits and go "oh my god the fuck is wrong with you."
Kinda wish comic books were one of those mediums, but.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Comic books are getting there, even if it is slowly. I mean, Spider-Woman went from this
◊ to this
◊ and Carol Danvers went from this
to this
. Even Red Sonja now looks like this
(and Vampirella, whose costume was held together with string and hope, will soon look like this
and Dejah Thoris, who was pretty much nude, looks like this
).

Actually, Elektra did have a solo book last year with some gorgeous art
◊ by Mike del Mundo, but it didn't really sell well. Perhaps she could do with a redesign?
I just remembered, yeah.
◊ I think both it and She Hulk were cancelled after their first story arcs were finished due to bad sales. No one really cared for it IIRC but people were pissed She Hulk got cancelled.
An alternate Elektra just showed up in Contest of Champions by the way.
◊
I always thought Elektra would work well in a Secret Six/Birds of prey-esque book about female villains(former or not)trying to be good(or some other reason for them to come together like a program Cap started or something). Could have Elektra, Black Cat and some others working together with someone like Diamondback or Mockingbird as the supervisor.

Yes and she calls herself Bullseye - it's pretty awesome. (To be honest, I'm not really sorry the Elektra book was cancelled, because while the art was awesome, the story was only okay. And Mike del Mundo is doing so much more with the current Weirdworld book, which is simply amazing all around.)

It's pretty cool.
I'm not really sorry to see the book go either. The last Black Widow book also had great art but the story sucked and the writer is apparently a huge asshole so I'm glad that book at least is getting a chance with a new creative team.
Didn't the last Thunderbolts book suck? I recall people having huge problems with it and the Punisher book.

Hey, at least Richards is helping rebuild the multiverse. Doom, meanwhile, was content to keep everyone on his own patchwork planet.
