Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

It's more likely than the comics ever crossing over again
◊(relations between DC and Marvel have been sour since Marvel told comic stores to outright burn DC's comics in exchange for Deadpool alternate covers a few years ago)since the makers of the LEGO games are already owned by Warner Bros.
I still want a Marvel fighting game by Netherrealm(who're also owned by Warner).

Shame that neither DC/Marvel crossover answered the one question everyone wants to know the answer to (along with a million other questions everyone wants to know the answer to): What happens if you give Hulk a Red Lantern Ring?
Red Lantern Ring: Bruce Banner of Earth, you have great rage in your heart.
Bruce: Oh, god please no!
aftermath: HULK SMASH PUNY SAITAMA! HULK LITERALLY STRONGEST THERE IS!

Is it Khn'nr and Noh-Varr? Khn'nr was the Skrull who took Mar-Vell's place during Secret Invasion (he pretended he was Mar-Vell from the past) and eventually defected (and then died), while Noh-Varr was called Marvel Boy at first, before then becoming the Captain Marvel for the Dark Avengers (and then defecting and becoming Marvel Boy again for Young Avengers).

I like that Thor vs Superman fight because later Thor asserts that he could totes beat up Superman if they rumbled again.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThere are some good scenes with them which show the difference between them.
Thor can tell Superman that "Hey, I think you're good enough to wield Mjolnir"
◊(which is pretty much his highest praise), but when he's with others he says "I'd totally win a rematch!"
◊. Also, Superman is really humble.

In fairness, the second link happened before the first one.
I really do love JLA/Avengers though. Its way better than it needed to be for a lets have you and him fight ON A UNIVERSAL SCALE thing.
There were so many good details like Captain Monicavel adapting to the green lantern wavelength or Wonder Woman beating the crap out of Hercules because he's a villain in her verse. Or Superman wielding Mjolnir and the mighty shield. Captain America very quietly commiserating with Batman for losing a sidekick.
Just so much good.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
x4 This minor joke is so good.
◊
I really want one more crossover since so many writers work for both the big 2 now.
Edit: Speaking about crossovers, who wants a Avengers/Star Wars one?

Which doesn't sound like a lot, but when you're in an industry that consistently struggles to break $100k on a given product...

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.![]()
Turns out I remembered the burn part wrong(but they probably did it)but yes, for each 50 DC comics stores got 1 Deadpool cover.
Edit: If anyone wants to check comic sales for 2015, check here but bear in mind that #1 of each book usually sells way better than any future issues in the series, Star Wars is way bigger than Marvel's own books and events always does really well even if they're crap.

So, fairly likely rumor going around that the reason LEGO Avengers is missing certain(non-Fox)characters(they aren't even announced as DLC like the Thunderbolts, Ant-Man and Civil War characters) like the Guardians is because LEGO Guardians is planned for 2017 with the cast of gotg 1 and 2+other cosmic characters from the comics like the future/3000 guardians, Captain Mar-Vell and Nova etc.
