Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Well she is a budding Nightmare Fetishist.
It's quite possible she'll grow up to control bug monsters for the good of humanity. And terrifying rabbit dolls.
Besides its respiratory system being too big to process puny oxygen atoms, there's also the issue of quantity of oxygen.
There's a reason why prehistoric bugs were gigantic but went extinct; the ambient oxygen levels in the atmosphere decreased, and bugs need a lot of oxygen.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
Just baaaaack it up.
Regarding that Spider Man hoodie thing
So according to the company (Merchoid) who made it, Marvel helped them design it, but Merchoid doesn't actually know what the costume will look like.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo I rewatched Ant-Man.
In hindsight, it's got a similar problem to Thor 2, in that it's hesitant to play up the amazing goofiness of its premise until the last twenty minutes or so.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. The whole movie seemed gloriously goofy as I recall
Although it certainly ramps it up at the last minute.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMeh, the movie really play goofy, having just three drama moment if I recall.
I meant if we could do a scale between Seriousness and goodfinest, in one extreme we have Winter soldier(the grittiest movie in MCU so far) and in the other would be Guardian of the galaxy, Antman belong to the latter.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I'm noticing a distinct lack of sources, thank god, because I dunno if my Marvel completionism could withstand a fucking Punisher series. Like, I'm just BARELY okay with dumping him in Daredevil.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I'd say the best move is to reserve judgement until we see how the MCU Punisher is handled. Depending on the precise interpretation of the character used and where the character lands at the end of the Daredevil Season 2, it could be that a Punisher show not only could make sense but is the obvious route forward.
Having said that, until Jeff Lobe or someone else with the authority to speak on Marvel's behalf says they are developing a Punisher series, I'm going to assume they are not. Or at least, I'm going to assume that any such project has yet to receive the green light and only exists if they have space to add a new series post-Defenders and the character is well-received in Daredevil.
I wonder what exactly I would prefer in the place of a punisher movie.
She Hulk would be my obvious answer. There's a story there about a woman being disfigured that you don't get to tell in media normally, it would mean two shows about defence lawyers, but, that wouldn't be the focus of a She Hulk show for me.
Blade could work on a TV level for me, it would be ambitious and I expect Blade is being kept for a film, but it's a possibility.
Cloak and Dagger, yes, yum. Run away teenagers caught in the super hero drug trade, yes.
I'm overly optimistic about a hypothetical Moonknight Netflix show, on the condition that they give him a formal diagnosis (a non egyptian goddess induced one) and give that issue the attention it's due. (Dissociation is a common symptom to a lot of personality disorders, and yet there's no real media taking a sober look at what that's like) But I can see lots of ways it could go wrong.
Runaways would be grand, but I don't think Marvel would give that team to Netflix; it's a different sort of show.
HELL CAT HELL CAT HELL CAT HELL CAT hasn't been formally introduced yet, but sure. Like wise Misty Knight's Heroes for Hire.
I'm yet to find a take on Elecktra I would enjoy, but I think her being the protagonist would remedy most of my problems with her.
Okay yeah, Punisher is below all of these for me, but it's not like him getting a series before anyone else is offensive to me. I think?

But the giant ant asphyxiating would have been tragic! I much preferred that it was like a big dog.
