Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

To give the people in the wardrobe department something to do, and help round out the setting without actually impacting much on it, filling out the empty seats in The Alliance HQ and making things look diverse.
To be the people who keep the world spinning while Gryffindors play with their wands and Slytherins jerk off to Mein Wizard Kampf.
Hufflepuff had a significant student to its name, Cedric Diggory, and he got himself Stuffed in the Fridge, which is fairly story-impactful.
Ravenclaw had Luna Lovegood, but I'm honestly drawing a blank as to what she actually contributed. I think she introduced the Deathly Hallows?
Whenever I think of Ravenclaw, I just think of my brother's play "Hufflepuffed". Specifically the scene where a drunk Sorting Hat sorts all the first years in one big rush, and he's looking down the list and just goes "That one's Asian, he's a Ravenclaw!"
My various fanfics. And Ginny's boyfriend and his friends.
Luna was part of the battle in the Ministry of Magic and she showed Harry into the Ravenclaw tower before the final battle. But her most important contribution was to ensure that Harry's story was published in the newspaper of her father. She did even more, but most of it was off-screen.

The characters, or their actors? Sounds pretty apt, though I think I heard a lot of Slytherins in the crowd for Cap, and it's quite a popular fandom meta. Largely motivated by literal Snape or Draco in Leather Pants or Rooting for the Empire though. Cap's characterization always struck me as an archetypical Gryffindor's anyway.
