Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Also, Zemo is not a yellow peril.
Also also, I shall be quite disappointed if they don't use the 'glued hood to head like a dumbass how does he eat?' version of Zemo.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNo, no, he glued the mask to his face by accident and then ripped the mask off, meaning that he ripped off an entire layer of skin from his face. So he looks like this
◊ now.
Isn't it great how much of a sick f**k the status quo can be? Now I just want to see this PSA
again, only with Zemo in that lady's place.

...is it odd that I think that unmasked Zemo looks almost like Hugo Weaving?
Zemo was the Red Skull all along!
Hey.
Adhesive X isn't some vague glue.
It is the uber glue.
Even Thor couldn't defeat it.
But Paste Pot Pete could.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThere's something delightfully industrial about adhesives tying into so many silver age villains.
I'm convinced MARVEL is working towards a MCU Masters Of Evil, so I wouldn't be surprised if we have a movie of Zemo having a face, and then something vainly tragic happens which gives him cloth for a face, so that he can have his iconic look for the MCU's first super villain team.
I'm still convinced that nobody at Marvel Studios or Disney is going to touch an organization with such a ridiculous name as "The Masters of Evil" with a ten-foot pole.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.And then everyone and their dog breaks out laughing at the Narmy line, "How about we show them some real evil?" and all menace is lost.
Having a villainous character self-identify as Evil is a bit of a dead horse.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.The same with any other event comic aftermath. The characters go back to their solo books and back to dealing with their less-threatening-than-the-event-Big Bad rouges.
Here's the thing.
Terrorists don't call themselves Evil. They call their enemies Evil.
North Korea doesn't call itself Evil Korea. They talk at length about the Evils of Capitalism and the Evils of the West.
Nazi Germany was not The Evil Empire of Hitler. They were driven by the goal of restoring Germany's glory and believed that genocide was the way to achieve that goal.
The KKK is not the Clan of Evil. They consider minorities to be an evil that must be eradicated.
People do not call themselves Evil. It sounds ridiculous. The only people who self-identify as Evil are emo teenagers trying to look cool.

And?
You're suggesting that they will make a vast departure from the comics in order to better capture the spirit of a character who is, himself, a vast departure from the character being adapted? That's redundant.
