Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Honestly, I wouldn't sign this either. The last time the heroes acted under the orders of a panel, said panel decided that nuking New York was a good idea. It would be different if there were a specific set of rules what a hero is allowed to do and what not. But who is to say that said panel gives reasonable orders?
@Swanpride, Technically nuking New York would be a good idea, but only in the absence of a finer method of handling the issue. The nuke was like using a car to kill an roach without considering every single other option first.
Like if we didn't have all this intel on the situation and superheroes on the ground then nuking New York would have been a viable option to prevent a greater alien force from coming in and taking over the entire planet. Needs of the many and whatnot.
I would argue that the security council made the decision far too soon. They practically rushed it.
@Kostya, actually that seems to just be the signing page. I read it, it seems there are more preceding documents we're not getting because why would fans care about reading hundred page UN treaties?

The Blog The Art"Alright, your first order is to take off your shirt! C'mon, you signed the accord, you've got to do it by law, Romanoff... and you too, Rogers."
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon."What's wrong with you guys? Why can't you follow orders like Hulk? See, he's already taken off his-"
"HE'S NOT EVEN ON THE ACCORDS!"
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. The fact that he's Hydra dies not totally invalidate the need for the decision considering he's one of the idiots that lives on this planet and has just as much of a vested interest in making sure our world isn't conquered and enskaved by an invading alien race that isn't HYDRA tested and HYDRA approved.
The Blog The ArtI am not against oversight. But I think it should happened in a clear frame of rules. For example a police offer is sworn to the law. Yes, the government can change the law, but not only is said government elected by the people, it is also not an easy thing to do. Here we have a random group of people which are supposed to take control, with no clear frame for anything. But the heroes are supposed to sign on them deciding what should be done...maybe even in situations in which it is necessary to act swift. That's like telling a police officer "Whenever you want to arrest someone, you first have to call central and ask for permission".

Thor was a fake-out. They made it look like Loki is a power hungry villain just to reveal that he actually wants the approval of his father and the acceptance as Aesir more than anything else.
