Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

"Do you really wanna punch your way out of this one?" kinda sums up the problems with the original comic, don't it.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. It sums up the limits of nearly every superhero comic. Punching problems in real life doesn't usually solve everything.
Of course, Cap is no stranger to refusing to fight, as The Winter Soldier's climax showed, but he does have that fight-happy streak that WS and Age of Ultron have touched on.
Also, fantastic trailer.

It honest-to-god looks like the completion of a trilogy rather than an Avengers movie. More like a piece of cinema than a franchise film. All the sweet spy-political-action of the Winter Soldier with the rest of the MCU spread between it. This looks like, IMO, what could be the best MCU film to date. (Also: nothing on Spidey pisses me off about as much as not showing Luke Skywalker in the SW trailers does, and it's smart, and I like it. Not even a single hint. Smooth, Marvel.)
@PCM: They're saving Spidey as a end-of-trailer thing for the next one, definitely.
At least we get some good shots of Panther though.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectAlso seems like Bucky is framed for the incident that sets off the Civil War. So kind of a combination of the Stamford Incident and I'd guess the Zemo plot that's Janice!Beetle's origin story- unless there's some other incident of Zemo blowing up/plotting to blow up a lot of people and blame it on Bucky. Not that I think she'll show up but it fits in with the premise of Zemo, Bucky, and Sam.
But yeah, looks very good.

The cinematography looks very unlike the shaky cam of Winter Soldier. Seems smoother.

Man, that's quite a heart-wrenching exchange of words there. At the very least, this makes me much more confident that the film won't villainize Tony Stark to such a ridiculous degree like in the comic, and that the story will be much more even in terms of morality.
And heck, it looks like it too is taking a political thriller route, just like WS.

So Krysten Ritter's gonna be on Jimmy Kimmel tonight, as well.
