Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I mean, it might've been something Goddard intended for the show to bring up later but never got the chance to.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. It is kinda hard to frame it as Matt's fault; if he didn't fight back he'd have died, so you can't blame him for fighting Nobu. If he hadn't deflected the gama he'd have died, so you can't blame him for that either. Meanwhile, Nobu could have tried to extinguish himself or Fisk could have done so, but the former chose to keep fighting and the latter wanted him to burn.
I mean, I guess when Fisk arrived Matt could have at least said "I want to kill you but can our fight wait until after we've extinguished Nobu?".
But regardless, Daredevil is old news. Jessica is what's new and hip and I will now proceed to waste hours of my life binge-watching.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! It was not his fault that he was forced to kill a man in self-defense during the course of his vigilante activities, but it's still disingenuous for him to say in defense of his vigilante activities that, "I have never killed a man." A more accurate statement would be, "I have only killed in self-defense when there was no other option available to me."

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I don't think it's disingenuous when from Matt's perspective, he might not even know Nobu is dead.
The man already demonstrated the ability to conceal his heartbeat and such, for all Matt knew (especially since he was suffering from having been nearly killed himself) Nobu survived. He doesn't know he couldn't bounce back from that.
So, I'm only halfway through the first episode so far, but I found this.
I mean, it's probably not going to happen, but it's cool that Tennant is interested and open to doing it.
Jessica Jones is hands-down one of the best things Marvel has ever put out.
Not even in the MCU. Like, the entire company.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. It's also a great example of Marvel Studios branching out and making content that can appeal to a wide group of people. As a noir detective mystery/thriller, it's almost entirely unlike anything else they've put out - even Daredevil - and can definitely appeal to fanbases that might not have been so interested in their other content.

Could be. It wouldn't be the first time a Marvel writer had a character totally killing someone and then almost immediately another writer had them boasting about how superheroes/Avengers/they personally would NEVER kill a person under any conditions ever.
Just the first time it happened in the MCU.
