Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm okay with comics and related being stupid.
They usually always are.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhy do you have no desire to watch the tv shows? I mean if you're just not interested it's fine, but I recommend them. Great plotting, characterization and acting (sometimes superior to the MCU movies, Daredevil being the prime example) all around. Daredevil features protagonists and antagonists alike with complexities deeper than the movie ones in several ways, primarily because of the relative lack of time a movie has.
So I'd recommend tv shows to you.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."For as much complaining as I've done about that movie, I won't deny that the tank keychain was really cool and took me completely by surprise.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I got a kick out of Mjolnir desperately trying to find Thor after being separated through a portal.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Speaking of Ant-Man, at least from just watching the movies, in Civil War the battle seems to be in Team Stark's favor, mostly because of Vision...but then I was also told that Ant-Man being in Team America would even it out.
Hmm...interesting.
That makes me wonder what exactly is the full capacity of Vision is. Eh, whatever goes, I guess.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing. The deck seems stacked in Stark's favor but, for the sake of good storytelling, it should be stacked in Stark's favor. Civil War isn't an Avengers movie where you'd be reasonably expected to root for both and honestly unsure who will prevail. It's a Captain America film. Team Stark are an antagonist force, not an equal side. Antagonists are meant to be more powerful than protagonists, to raise tension and sweeten the inevitable victory.
The deck was stacked in Hydra's favor in Winter Soldier too.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I've seen key chain like that somewhere so I did NOT see them coming.
Also, well, there's the conservation of the mass thing. Then again, that law gets violated more often than [JOKE REDACTED FOR BEING INSENSITIVE] so I don't have too much issues with that.
Does anyone, I wonder?
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.Mass is not conserved. It all floats around in Zero-Space. When you punch, however, your mass is temporarily accessed and channeled into the force of the blow.
How else would Scott be able to run along the barrel of a gun unaffected by his weight, yet still punch with the force of a 200-lb man?

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Hmm...as far as I know, most people in Team Cap are augmented and highly trained, but not in the tier of the likes of Thor, Vision, and Hulk.
......What if Tony take that stun device Obadiah used in Iron Man 1, modify it, and just blast it at them?
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.@dRoy Agent Carter is written by the same team which also writes the Captain America movies. It is therefore very close connected to the franchise and is basically telling Peggy's story. Meaning you get the other half of what I consider the most epic and tragic romance in the MCU. You have to decide for yourself if you are missing out or not, but it isn't too late to catch up if you are interested. The first season has only eight episodes and has a concluded storyline....it is pretty much like watching a six hour movie.
But if this show is not to your taste, there are two (soon four) other options for you. You can either give Agent of Shield a chance. That requires a little bit more investment and a lot of patience because the first season is a little bit wonky, but it is one of those shows which just keep getting better and better. This last episode more or less rewrote the whole MCU while adding some interesting details to The Avengers. But it also tells a great story in its own right.
And finally there is Daredevil. That would be like watching a R-rated 10 hour movie. Very tightly written it is set in the darker corner of the MCU. So if you crave something gritty, the show should satisfy you. If that is not your thing at all, well, so far Daredevil is the most isolated of the TV franchises. That might change in the future, though.
We see a bigger version of them in The Incredible Hulk that's mounted on jeeps. But Stark hasn't been manufacturing weapons for a while, besides those for his armors. And it's been a while since that film.

Stupid or not, that was unarguably awesome, yeah.
