Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Going back, yeah, the existence of mind controllers WOULD be insanely difficult.
Not exactly the same circumstances, but it reminds me of Edge of Tomorrow. Long story short, the main character learns that he can relive one day over and over. He tries to prove this to his unit members, even going as far as predicting every single move and line...
...and he just gets his mouth duct-taped.
Seriously, mind controllers. What kind of scientific methods would you have to use to prove them anyway?
Especially when instead of making an army and being all obvious like Loki or Lorelei, they're being subtle just influencing people to do horrific but believable things for kicks like Kilgrave.
Most people would logically assume that his victims were just regular people that snapped.

I think what's especially frightening with Killgrave is the "for kicks" aspect. Someone like Loki, Lorelei, or (in the MCU) Ultron will mind control people and/or kill people as a means to an end (which is not to say that end is itself good). For Killgrave, it's an end in itself and he puts a lot of thought into controlling people in a way that hurts them and others the most.
Because spouting information requires backing up that information. And the article linked, again, doesn't specifically back up what was written. And we won't know what actually happens in the show until November 20, because that's when it comes out — unless someone got a copy of the pilot beforehand.
I think you're misunderstanding me. The post where I stated that I was fine with it as long as the source is posted is more of a general statement rather than one attributed to him. I understand that he didn't initially link them and in response was just trying to say that I'm fine with posts about shows that have not come out yet in general as long as sources are linked.
I didn't really hop in to argue about the legitimacy of his first post but to point out that he had already posted the links that you were asking for. The way you were responding, going so far to say that the article had nothing to do with a right wing radio pundit (which was factually wrong,) made it sound like you hadn't even read the article or at least hadn't read the entire thing. Which made your posts after I quoted the link sound (to me) like you were trying to save face by saying his post was still illegitimate. If that was not the case, and you were simply trying to bring attention to the fact that the pundit was never connected to the whole "lives they didn't save" statement then I apologize. That was not clear to me.

I read the article. His post connected two things that, in the article, are not connected.

If you look at the news then you would have read there is an indeed a right wing radio host ranting on the Avengers during Jessica Jones. This has nothing to do with the character Trish -___-'. It's just something I pointed out because of how denizens of New York respond to the larger world around them. Just like kids dressed as Captain America as they act like well kids...
meanwhile, we have this guy who said - "Yeah, besides, I don't think Trish Walker is a right-wing talk show host. A talk show host, maybe, but not right wing, I don't think."
Yes you didn't know someone already said 8 episodes of JJ already but whenever I post such information note it's not a rumor. il send the links in advance.
and now i dont know what the hell just happened.
OKAY. back to trailer 2
