Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The video also demonstrates why it would make sense, in a Civil War movie, to have Cap and Hulk on the opposite side from Iron Man and Thor. (Regardless of whether the movie actually does that.)
Selflessness and self-control are both about limiting power. Selfishness and control over others are both about exerting power.
EDIT: Re: the Doctor Strange photos - Cumberbatch's facial hair as Strange really makes him look like the epitome of "white guy going to Asia to find enlightenment". Especially in this picture: https://instagram.com/p/9xdlNmlZBrbTPMk4qshgmzxSTYUYPgvdN1pkg0/

Philosophically wise that makes sense, but the actual characters would probably disagree. Banner would want no part of this shit out of fear for the Hulk losing control and Thor likewise would probably see this as a Midgard conflict he has no part in it.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Has this been posted yet?
Official line-up for several characters in Civil War.
Natasha, War Machine, Black Panther and Vision are all on Team Stark
Hawkeye, Sharon Carter, Falcon, Bucky Barnes and Ant-Man are all on Team Cap.
Currently unaccounted for are Spidey and Wanda.
Well he just looks like a regular guy in that picture. If I didn't know who the character is I'd assume he's the obligatory Black Best Friend.
Since his role is small, but supposedly somewhat similar to the one he played in the comics, Spidey's probably going to be an example that Stark uses as a young superhero affected by the act. Then at some point he might see the conflict and opt to walk away.
Since unlike comics Spidey nobody knows him yet, he's not ingrained into the universe and they won't have the luxury of a tie-in centered around him, it might only go as far as that.
@Mordo: Looks like Mordo is the one who initially seeks Strange out, Batman Begins style.

I want to say that it's possible Hank could do an uncredited cameo at Peggy's funeral and maybe even have Peter show up as a picture taker for the Daily Bugle, but they probably already finished filming, huh? And besides, at 15, Peter would probably be too young to have that kind of job at the Daily Bugle, right? Actually, we don't even know if they'll establish the Daily Bugle as a thing in Civil War, do we?
Also, out of curiosity, which Daredevil vs. Kingpin climax fight did you guys think was more satisfying, the 2015 one or the 2003 one?

Yeah it's a fascinating little video.
The sadly funny thing is how his explanation on the Hulk's philosophy perfectly explains how misused the character is in both comics and films.
