Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Touching on what somebody said earlier about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's rights, I feel like with Quicksilver's death in AOU there's just this mutual silent agreement that Fox will use Quicksilver and Marvel will use Scarlet Witch. It just doesn't seem like there's any other reason for Quicksilver's death. However I did hear somewhere that Bryan Singer was considering using Scarlet Witch in the future (but don't quote me on that.)
I mean, maybe eventually, but not in the foreseeable future. Because I don't think she's even been published yet. And if she has, it's in a single issue of a brand new book. Like, all she is right now is a concept.
She's appeared in Contest of Champions (2015) #1 and looks to be in the rest of the issues so far. If they do make a movie out of Contest of Champions, though, man, it would be awesome and metal as hell.
Colleen Wing for one (if the Netflix shows eventually bring in the Daughters of the Dragon), plus I wouldn't mind a Shiang Chi movie.
We're getting Misty Knight in the Luke Cage Netflix show, so hopefully she's going to meet Colleen Wing and they will become BFFs and form the Daughters of the Dragon.
Colleen is Japanese, it's worth noting.

Right now it sounds like Apocalypse is his last movie on the franchise and it's being billed as the Grand Finale to his run with the movies, so unless Scarlet Witch appears in a surprise cameo I don't think they'll be using her.

I feel like Scarlet Witch's absence can be partly explained by her lack of anything that could be described as a costume in Age of Ultron, and partly by 3.0 focusing mostly on Star Wars. The only new Marvel figures in 3.0 so far are Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron, and First Avenger Cap, and none of them are even out yet (the first two are coming next month, and Cap's scheduled for 2016).
It probably doesn't have anything to do with being a woman, seeing as the rest of the 3.0 line gives us Minnie Mouse, Mulan, 3/5 emotions from Inside Out, Ginnifer Goodwin's bunny cop character from Zootopia, and fricking Quorra of all people. Not to mention Leia, Rey, Ahsoka, and Sabine from the Star Wars line.
Eh. My other points still stand. She doesn't have anything you could really call a costume in Age of Ultron, 3.0 is mainly about Star Wars, and female characters aren't conspicuously absent from the rest of the line.
The issue seems to be that there'd be limited interest in Wanda Maximoff in particular at this stage. Things may change after Civil War.
Also, let's not forget that Infinity is an annual title. If she's not around for 3.0, she could very easily be in next year's version.
EDIT: Unrelated, but why are there only some of the 2.0 figures in that image?

I doubt the 10 seconds of screentime given to that outfit would be enough to justify making a toy based on it for the Age of Ultron releases. It's basically just a sneak peak at what she'll be wearing in Civil War. Her Age of Ultron costume is best described as "street clothes."
Also, frankly, we don't know that she doesn't exist. She's not in that image, but that doesn't actually mean anything. It's also missing Modern Cap, Loki, Falcon, Spider-Man, Venom, Nova, Iron Fist, Green Goblin, Star-Lord, Drax, Ronan, and Yondu. First Avenger Cap, Vision, Scott, and Black Panther are clearly tied into the release of Civil War. Wanda may be released at that time too, and simply isn't in what appears to be a random assortment promotional image.
Wanda could also just be an NPC like Wasp and Carol Danvers were in Disney Infinity 2.0

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.
Well, they're probably holding off on revealing too many Force Awakens characters until the movie actually comes out.
Alias used more of the hardboiled formula than what you would normally except for a decteive. So theres not much to compare it to under that context (can't think of an anbudence of hardboiled crime shows).
Sherlock thrives on its well rounded characters dilogue built in setting plotting and exploring the splice of life. Overall it does what needs to be done to have such high quality story telling.
Chactaer wise I think Ellie (last of us) has more to relate with Jessica than Sherlock though Moroity's relationship with Sherlock is somewhat comparable to purple man x Jess.
Anyway yea your right the show would be on pair with the enjoyment we gain from Sherlock cuz the source material sure hell is. Nature of refectling something already good

So what are the three untitled phase 4 films? I feel like Spider-Man wouldn't be included on their skate since Sony still technically makes the movies, while Marvel makes everything else. So my bets are: Guardians Vol. 3 (I mean come on it's inevitable) New project (Runaways/She-Hulk/whatever they decide) Phase 3 sequel (Inhumans 2/Doc Strange 2/Black Panther 2 etc.)
Hoping for either a Cap 4 or Iron Man 4 (one or the other is fine really) or Fantastic Four reboot within MCU. Btw, why has nobody ever considered the possibility of an Avengers vs X-Men movie? Since marvel is producing their shows I feel like Fox would at least be open to the idea.
We don't know if they're even considered part of Phase 4 or just a really extended Phase 3 at this time. While Marvel produces their shows, I don't think that allows them to crossover in the films. Tat requires a separate contract, I think. However it might mean the TV shows like AOS can call "gifted" characters mutants again even if the X-Men don't show up.

I can almost guarantee that it's not a Phase 3 sequel. If and when those sequels are made, they will be slotted into the existing schedule at a later time, much like Ant-Man and The Wasp was added to the line-up. They're going to see how the first ones do before giving specific dates to sequels.
Also, it's definitely not Inhumans 2, since Inhumans 1 isn't even coming out until 2020 now.
Guardians Vol. 3 is possible, and is even likely (Vol. 2 is a 2017 release, right?). And I'm still fairly sure that the first one is Iron Man-related somehow (because every phase begins with one). The third one is probably a new property.
