Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Some very interesting spoilers from the Jessica Jones pilot
concerning LGBT characters in the MCU.
@dRoy-
Well, he is Hawkeye and no one cares about Hawkeye.
I've noticed that I do too. Ditto for Black Widow. I think it's because as spies, they use their codenames as much as their real names. Also, Clint Barton is a bit confusing being a case of Two First Names (although, so is Steve Rogers).
Weirdly, I notice with Captain America and crew I tend to alternate between nicknames and codenames- so Steve/Cap; Bucky/Winter Soldier; Sam/Falcon.
I think Tony is the only person I call mostly by real name- probably because Tony Stark is as famous in-universe and out as Iron Man.

Interesting, although I'm a little worried that it'll take away time from other characters that I'm interested in seeing.
I think it might be a case of lack of resources. It's possible Netflix (even with the aid of marvel studios) doesn't have the resources to juggle so many tv shows at such a close time period.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Technically the Netflix tv shows are actually Web Original.

They absolutely are not Web Original. Netflix is a television network, albeit a very unorthodox one.
Netflix shows get nominated for Emmys. Therefore they are TV.
