Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Well, many of those characters will get one of two sequels, right? The Inhumans and Got G maybe even more, since you can put more or less every character under those names. Assuming that they don't get the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer back, don't manage to entangle Namor from whatever legal limbo he is trapped in and the Universal deal concerning the distribution rights of The Hulk is still in place, there is still Cloak and Dagger, Ms Marvel and Squirrel Girl.
I almost prefer cloak and dagger to be in the Netflix section of the MCU. The same is true of Moon knight, She hulk and Blade. And it looks like Spider-man will fill the genre niche Runaways or Kamala Khan would.
Wait, what are the distribution rights issue with the hulk?

Avengers’ Ultron Sounds Even More Unhinged With James Spader’s Office Dialogue

It depends on how they do it. Runaways would be a poor fit for Netflix, I think, since so far across the board the stance seems to be that they want more mature, adult-themed shows. Runaways has some serious moments but it's far more cartoony than stuff like Daredevil or Jessica Jones.

They got Luis one hundred percent spot on
Otherwise, anticlimax theater again.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersMileages have been known to vary but I don't find anticlimax in every video as funny.
Its what you expect from them. So the anticlimax is an anticlimax.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPeople post them here and I have poor impulse control
And I did like the bit with Luis so it wasn't all bad
I like bits sometimes

Forever liveblogging the AvengersFrankly I don't like this webseries much as a whole. Reality Ensues never was my favourite joke and I feel they tend to abuse it in a mean-spirited way in most of their videos. Though I will admit Cybercafe scenes usually are fun.
Anybody thinking Marvel will take cues from The Spectacular Spider-Man for their Spider-Man movie?
Also, awesome to see that Ant-Man's getting a sequel with Wasp. "About damn time" indeed.
Also also, which do you guys think is more likely to show up in Civil War? Red Hulk or Giant-Man?

I didn't mean mean-spirited like that. More like I gets waaaay too often a "if the movie was realistic these characters would be all dead" vibe from their videos. And I never found that amusing. Now, if you find that amusing, then all good for you. To each his own as they say. But for me, it's just not my thing. Unlike Honest Trailers, which I do find hilarious.
I'd say none of them, but Giant-Man would be more likely seeing how Hulk won't be in it.
Actually, if you took Volumes 1 and 3 of the first Runaways series and mostly skip over Volume 2, it's a pretty darn good blueprint for a movie script.
Bryan Cranston Wants To Be A Marvel Super-Villain

I thought that was cool too.
I'm realising, assuming Marvel continues to introduce at least one new property a year in phase 4, they're quickly running out of properties of note.
Kamala Khan and the Runaways are good choices (the latter work work better on TV I feel) but what else? And moreover the films have to compete with the TV shows for characters too.
