Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Do we KNOW Aaron Johnson filmed the New Avengers scene or is it possible they didn't get that far? He's said they definitely wrote an alternate draft where he survives and gets a real costume, but I'm not sure if it was shot or not.
Though the Loki cameo is still missing even though it's confirmed Tom Hiddleston shot it.
Tom Hiddleston explains why Loki was cut
from Age of Ultron.
Apparently the sequence was confusing to audiences and people thought the film was implying Loki was controlling Ultron through the Mind Stone.
That's a very good reason for cutting him from the film. With as common as the complaints about Loki's overexposure is, miscommunicating to the audience that Loki was controlling Ultron would have resulted in an even greater backlash than the "Black Widow calls herself a monster 'cause she can't have babies" misinterpretation.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Generally speaking, "Cut off one head and two more will take its place!" has always just been empty rhetoric. It has a more badass and inspirational sound than "We Have Reserves so drown them in a sea of our corpses!" but a functionally identical meaning.
Somewhat fitting, as this strategy was fairly popular in WWII.

I also mean for the leadership "kill me, and simply other will take my place" one element of Hydra is that they are a persistent bunch, always growing again and again.
Granted, they should drop the "Hail HYDRA!" that is poor advertisment for your group, I prefer "Hydra dominantus!" of the alpha legion, more to the point.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"The big downside is that the actress who plays Cassie really is as young as she looks. It'd be a long time before she's old enough to believably portray even a teenager. After Infinity War she'll only be about 11.
Even so, I could see a tense moment in an Ant-Man sequel involving her having to use the Ant-Man tech to become giant, in a similar vein to how IM 3 had Pepper and the President use Iron Man and War Machine Iron Patriot briefly.
And then, if the MCU does go on long enough, then maybe...

I am still hoping to see the Secret invasion...but in any case, Phase four should be more or less full if we assume that Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, Got G, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Spider-man and the Inhumans all get a sequel.
The Dubsmash War finale approaches and it's going on television!

There's also the possibility they won't do a sequel for Ant-Man and instead just fold him into the Avengers franchise like they did for Hulk. Or if any of the other new Phase 3 characters end up as Stillborn Franchises.
