Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Some interesting takeaways from Joss Whedon's AOU commentary
. Including making people believe Hawkeye was going to die:
“That scene between the two of them was obviously part of my ongoing campaign to ensure the belief that Hawkeye is a dead man,” says Whedon. “Even to the point where he says that’s his last project at the house. Meaning, ‘It’s my last mission.’ He might well say, ‘Don’t worry, honey. It’s just one more job. It’s perfectly safe.’ And then walk under a ladder. He’s like Dead Meat in Hot Shots. It’s all a ruse.”
So you're saying that because it seemed obvious that he was going to die, it was actually obvious that he was going to live? But if it was obvious he was going to live, then wouldn't it then be obvious that he was going to die?
I mean, if I know you know I know, then don't you know I know you know I know?
I think they're saying it was so obvious and on the nose, that it was clear he wasn't ACTUALLY going to die. Whedon favors shock deaths that come out of nowhere (which is why even some of his fans criticize the use of Diabolus ex Machina in his work), so if he was gonna kill an Avenger, he wouldn't spend an hour smashing you in the face with a hammer with "THIS GUY IS GONNA DIE!!!" printed on it.

I can't exactly find the article that says it, but Kevin Feige said a while back how he and some others take notice of dream casting that we the people come up with.
...So, you guys don't think he might've read what any of us came up with...like how I personally dream-casted a certain someone for the role of a certain someone who's close to Spider-Man a while back?

It was obvious that Hawkeye would neither live nor die. Instead, he would become an undead vampire archer with animal sidekicks and Morgul-arrows-
This talk reminds me of a joke someone made in You Tube comment section.
Captain America's shield is made of Vibranium.
Hawkeye's shield is made of Quicksilver.

Yup, and it comes with a free Infinity Stone
◊, so buy one before Thanos gets off his throne and buys six of them.
Unless you life in Germany...than the box set is not available because of some copyright issues with the shape of the box and it naturally wasn't possible to at least do a simple box set for the German market (which is all I want anyway, one handy box for each phases which fit easily into my shelf and contain all the extra stuff).

"OH HI, AUNT MAY."
"Well, the tests results came back. I definitely have bullet cancer."
