Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Eh, I saw all episodes of Agents of SHIELD until now, and frankly, it's not bad. I mean, it took some time to actually get to the point, and earlier episodes were average at best, but it's still good as what it is. My only real issue is that so far, it doesn't yet feel that much like Marvel show, mainly because almost all the characters were Canon Foreigners; even the Inhumans are mostly characters who never appeared in the comic, and those who did appear are a bit unrecognizable (though for some of them it's a good thing). Still, I like the way it's going and I am curious to see the next season.

I really like to watch shows which feature movie news or cover specifically Superheroes....I am still looking for one which actually likes to cover Ao S. Most of the hosts don't even watch the show (which I think is a little bit insulting if a show covers specifically Marvel news), and the few who do act as if they should be ashamed that they do. It is a little bit aggravating.

I can understand a dislike of early season 1, because if I'm going to be honest with myself I didn't really watch Ao S for Ao S's sake until well into the second half of the first season.
But at the end of the day it's not uncommon for shows to take some time to find their footing and Agents of SHIELD simply wasn't an exception to this. Plenty of shows that ended up being very memorable in the end had a mediocre first season. Star Trek: TNG and Babylon 5 in particular come to mind.

Babylon 5 is a good example. As good as the second and third season are, the first one is a drag.
I wouldn't disagree with anyone who says that Ao S had a wonky start. It had. But I also think that you can't really judge the first episodes without having seen the second season. Now that I know that the show runners actually had a plan and pulled it off, I have a new appreciation for the first episodes.
x4 I think most of the direct fallout is going to be handled within Season Three. Otherwise there might be the rare exposure to terragen, but in general events will of progressed well beyond the current Inhumans story arc by the time the movie rolls around.
I think the Inhumans movie will be mostly focused on the Royal Family and Attilan. That doesn't rule out the Ao S Inhumans from having a role, just that they won't be the focus.

We will see...by the time Inhumans hits the theatres, Ao S mind not be around any longer. I hope that it will, but let's be honest here, there aren't that many shows which make it past their sixth season.

Subtle is fine. The movie ought to be self-contained for the most part, as in while Ao S could provide something of a prelude, no one needs to watch it in order to get the broader picture.

Watching this scene reminded me of the demon in Exorcist. Just have Thor use his own version of Your Mom and the image would be complete.

In all seriousness, I kind of hope they pull a surprise and make another Big Bad hijack the plot, namely Shuma Gorath. Then we have a sudden loose adaptation of The Thanos Imperative.

As long as it's capped by a brutal and somewhat darkly funny Reality Ensues moment, then I'm game.

People can think what they want but at this point it's tiresome. They need to go waist their energy on carp like under the dome z nation zoo or 3 hour long reality love shows couchbachalarcough
