Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

There was a squad of about three iron spiders running around after Civil War when Spidey was a fugitive.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat was Eric O'Grady, not Scott Lang. He's a sarcastic, amoral thief who uses his powerset to peep on women in the showers.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.![]()
It's kind of amazing to see the alarm-clock smash thing done in live action.
Also this gets my hopes up that the new series will be...like, I hesitate to say Daredevil was dark and gritty, but if it was, Jessica Jones seems like it'll be less so.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. From what I understand about the source material, Jessica Jones will probably be about as "dark" as Daredevil, but it will be a very different kind of darkness. More personal and psychological and less outward and environmental if that makes any sense.
So while Jessica Jones isn't going to be going out at night dressed as a demon and beating criminals to a pulp, Matt Murdoch's past will have been pleasant compared to her's
Flying Brick. In the tv show she can't fly because that would require Coconut Superpowers.
In the comics she's a flying brick, in the show she won't be able to fly, but she will be able to jump multiple stories. Otherwise she'll have about the same powers.
She actually has powers? For some reason I thought she was just a Badass Normal.
Okay, I see. Thanks. I admit, I like the fact they are doing a show about a superpowered character. I mean, yeah, Badass Normal characters are awesome, but the MCU series were starting to lack actually superpowered protagonists, Daredevil aside^^
Iron Man's superpower is money.
Captain America is 'peak human' but in reality is basically super powered.
Hulk.
Scarlet Witch.
Natasha and Hawkguy are just really good at what they do.
Thor is superpowered even for his bullshit immortal alien race.
Falcon and War Machine Iron Patriot use tech.
Ant-Man uses super powered shrinking tech.
Daredevil has super senses.
Jessica Jones can jump hella high.
Luke Cage has bullet proof skin.
Iron Fist is the man with the dragon tattoo.
Dr. Strange HAS MAGIC and can bring sexy back.
I don't think I have everyone but most of the people either have superpowers are using sufficiently advanced technology as to be indistinguishable from superpowers.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersEven Agent Carter has the power of awesomeness.
Also, Marvel has released the deleted Norn Cave scene
from Age of Ultron. Which I still think is much better than the actual scene we got in the movie.
