Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

It's possible I'm just taking stuff the wrong way, but:
Has me worried. Especially since The Children's Crusade spent so much time undoing that Never Live It Down moment.
It's possible she's just referring to the comics. I doubt Marvel would have cleared her to give away a big plot point like that for Civil War given how secretive they've been.
She did the same thing when Age of Ultron came out. She mentioned a bunch of extra powers Wanda supposedly has, but she was likely talking about what she knows from the comics since literally none of them showed up in the movie.
in thor Ragnarok thor should scream FOR ODIN FOR ASGARD, FOR VALHALLA, FOR MIDGARD... BEHOLD THY POWWWWWWWWWWWA!!!! during a scene full of explosions of the most epic proportions. as he ends it off with POWA suddenly bolts strike his hammer. he discharges them in the form of steaming hot pure white magma that immediately reduces the foe to nothingness.
i want a GRAND action sequence while still being a nod to the comics. for those who do not know white lighting is thor's strongest lighting because it's "magical"
White lighting is a pure white undefined plasma-esque energy that he used to strike down mangog without being in rune king mode. It's one of his best feats for normal tier Thor. I was thinking an adaption of it can be a new founded power source he taps into or unlocks the full potential of Odin force

Seeing that the Mind Stone in the comics functioned primarily as an Amplifier Artifact for psychics and was blue, and that wasn't the case in the MCU, it's possible the Time Stone will go through the same deal. Maybe not true time travel, but rapid or slow aging, a "Groundhog Day" Loop (would make for a neat movie plot of its own), or Za Warudo.
So according to these articles: http://heroichollywood.com/home-1/2015/9/17/hot-rumor-how-long-has-peter-parker-been-spider-man-in-captain-america-civil-war
http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/09/18/new-captain-america-civil-war-rumor-gives-a-timeline-for-spider-man-in-the-mcu-3549308?lt_source=external,manual
http://screenrant.com/marvel-spider-man-origin-civil-war/
, rumor has it that Peter Parker will have been Spider-Man for about a year by the time Captain America: Civil War takes place and will be considered an urban legend in New York.
Makes sense since, if he was mentioned in Ant-Man, then that means that he would already have been Spider-Man for a few months.

The infinity stones are a bit odd here. They mostly seem to just be unfathomable energy sources. Most of what we've seen of them is them being used to channel energy or power devices.
The only real actual use of their namesakes so far are the Tesseract-powered portal device, and building Ultron/Vision or brainwashing people from the Mind Stone. Even then, in 2/3 cases they needed to be hooked up to additional paraphenalia in order to actually be used that way.
For the Time Stone, I imagine its time-warping abilities will be reduced to effects like slowing down or stopping time while also being really powerful and shooting lazers, rather than making you an absolute master of time.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Eh, that could still work. Spider-Man's a hero that could feasibly keep a low profile for awhile.
Oh God! Natural light!Gotta love the way the latter two sites source back to the first one.
I remember one time some guy on Reddit made a speculation thread about how awesome it would be if John Ridley's new show was about Kamala Khan, then other sites actually picked up on it and ran with it as if it was an actual rumor.

I have a rule: Unless it is written at Hollywood reporter it is probably not true. It is high-time to boycott those rumour sites.
And this particular rumour...honestly, I could have written this one the second Marvel confirmed that they won't do the origin story again. Since Spider-man was supposed to turn up before his solo movie and Civil war is the only movie in the line-up in which his presence makes sense, and he should be around for a little bit beforehand but not too long, I could have guessed this without the need of any sources.
I am an idiot...I just noticed that Peggy is actually dressed up like Rosie the Riveter in the last Dubsmash vid. And sitting in Lola! I was so focussed on the other gueststar, I overlooked Lola! (Coulson should be fuming somewhere).
Unless they predicted that Black Widow would be with Tony Stark, I am not impressed. That was more or less the only thing which surprised me about the line-up.
