Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yeah, that one turned out all right. But was that the only time Tony Stark went around enforcing world peace? And that was a straightforward mission- fly in, kill everybody using Stark gear, fly out. What if there's a border dispute? Do you trust Stark to know the best way to resolve it? Even his friends think he's kind of a flake.
The more I learn about Terrence Howard and how crazy he is
, the more I'm glad that Marvel did not get him back as Rhodey. That dude doesn't believe in basic math.

I guess you can complain about how Marvel handled talent in the past, but dropping Terrence Howard does not appear to have been a bad decision.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project...there is nothing I can say that would add to that. I'm not sure if I'm horrified, amazed, or if I can even believe it.
?
You referring to the Dubsmash thing?

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectA previous poster said that superheroes work better as character types than as a whole genre (mentioned Winter Soldier really being a political thriller, only with superheroes). That struck a positive chord with me, so now I'm musing about what they could with upcoming Phase 3 films. Dr Strange for instance they could take the Dark Fantasy + Mystery route ("who killed the Ancient One?") or go straight horror even. Strange's Rogues Gallery is filled with Eldritch Abominations and demon lords after all, plus this is his first outing as a sorceror so he's still green and thus vulnerable, upping the tension.

Considering the director they picked, I think it is a safe bet that they intend to go for horror with dr. Strange. Got G Vol2 will naturally be another Space Opera (because there really aren't enough good ones), and Spider-man is supposed to be a teen-movie. I suspect Captain Marvel will be somehow military related? That one is really the big question mark in all this.
Captain Marvel could be one of those sci-fi thriller "alien abduction" and/or "alien conspiracy/infiltration" films complete with "Area 51"-esque military intrigue. One that hammers home the consequences of the Battle of New York, an event that made the galactic community take notice of Earth. And Agents Of Shield set some groundwork for the Kree's "shadow" being cast on the planet. This should in essence be the escalation point where they start getting really bold and up their covert meddling with humanity.

Official photos of the cast of Jessica Jones!
Speaking of which, you guys think we'll see cameos from anyone in Daredevil who isn't Claire Temple?
- JESSICA: Well, we've resolved the story but now we're in legal trouble. What do we do?
- MURDOCK: (smashes through the wall) It sounds like you'll need a LAWYER to help you!
- SHE-HULK: (smashes through the wall) It sounds like you'll need a lawyer TEAM-UP CROSSOVER to help you!
- SPIDER-MAN: (smashes through the wall) And I'm here too for some reason!
- WOLVERINE: (smashes through the wall) I can't even legally be in this show!
- JESSICA: My house! What did your awful joke do to my house?!
It would be cig if he had powers or only every now and then. His powers are pyschochactive pheromones that secret from his body. When in contact the with other humans he can tame them to their will. How thats shown well you can do hulications whenever he commits crimes... hnmmmmmm. Special effects or none?
I'm really curious about the expansion. He was just a spy who almost got shot except the bullet hit a container of chemicals that fell on him. Since then he decided to use his new powers for trooolozozoz until Namor killed him. Then he came back with a shot load of purple children. Overall he's a sleezy nobody who doesn't have a lot ambition and being persuasive is his best taltent. He has a lot to make up for the lack of detail much like Luke Cage's baddies
