Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Well, now I'm even more angry that the film never got an extended cut. Seriously, there's not even an option to watch the unfinished deleted scenes in their chronological place in the movie or anything?
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. If they were cut out of the movie late in the game, it was probably due to pacing problems. Lots of times these kinds of issues will come up during the editing stage.
The first Avengers movie, actually, had an entire framing story, with Maria Hill being interviewed by the World Security Council. It was cut because it just wasn't needed.
Hmm, considering pacing was one of my bigger problems with the film I feel like the added exposition/character building would've made the movie a lot better if kept.
Plus that Iron Man vs Cap would've gone a way towards fans' issues with Whedon's apparent Tony favoritism and his coming off as a bit of a Karma Houdini in this film.
Another rumor about who Marvel wants to play Captain Marvel
, this time it's Rebecca Ferguson. Be warned, however: the rumor is from Umberto Gonzalez, who is known for stating things that later turn out to have never been true at all.

She's Ilsa Faust in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. I really liked her, and she was great as a Distaff Counterpart to Ethan Hunt.
"An alternative scene in which Black Widow is toying with the Hulk for believing she could actually fall in love with Banner"
GOD DAMMIT WHEDON.
That's 10 times better than your shitty love story.
I'm so angry.

I'm not. That's what Natasha's arc in the movie should have been: Learning how to manipulate the Hulk/Banner by pretending to be in love with Banner, especially after Banner/The Hulk freaked her out in the first Avengers movie and almost killed her.

"Instead of a story about two broken people learning to understand and accept each other, then one being forced to betray the other, couldn't we have gotten a story about how an asshole woman manipulates an innocent man for her personal gain, like some sort of superheroized inverse Lifetime movie?"
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

Yea this sounds more like the film advertised. Basically we got pieces missing but its not too damaging. The final film still made its point
